Did you try the site online of the BLM and the GLO? Which mean Bureau of Land Management and Government Land Office. If it is original like in the 1700's or early 1800's you should be either able to find it at NARA or if the court house hasn't lost or burned down since the time you are interested in you should be able to find it at the courthouse or at the State Archives.

I have been told that a typewritten copy of an "original land grant" which
was obtained by one of my distant grandparents is on file at McMinn
Co.Courthouse.
