Subject: [TNMONROE-L] RESPONSES ON MONROE CO. CEMETERIES
Date: Wed, 14 Jul 1999 09:05:37 EDT
Thank you to all of you who have responded with wonderful information. That
website that was put out there is a tremendous help. I briefly looked at the
site, but definitely will go back and look some more when I have a little
more time this weekend. There is a place there on that page that pertains to
Tenn. that gives the information we need to help us. Our family members are
definitely on the move to preserve our cemetery and I will be checking this
out and moving forward.
I will contact Lynn McConkey today and let her know about what's going on.
Some have ask which cemetery this happened. It is our Click Family Cemetery
out on Scenic River Road. The road is not marked and if you didn't know it
was there, you wouldn't find it very easily. Directions to the cemetery:
Highway 68 and 411 in Madisonville, go North on 411 past the Walmart and the
Valley Bank. The Ball Play Road is just on the right past the bank. Drive 7
miles to Scenic River Road and turn left. Go three more miles and the road is
on the right. It is extremely muddy there right now with all the rain. As you
approach the place where the road turns off of Scenic River you can see where
they have been butchering the countryside. The road to the cemetery winds
around and you'd have to walk up the hill right now. The cemetery sits on top
of the hill to the right.
For anyone wanting to check it out the website address that was given in one
of the responses was:

If I find out anything else I will keep you updated.
