BEENE, MR. KENNETH D., SR. - age 78 of Knoxville, formerly of Morgan Co.,
passed away suddenly Friday June 1, 2001. He was a veteran of the Army Air
Corps serving in World War II. He retired from Uniroyal Inc. in Detroit Mich.
He was a member of the Black Oak Heights Baptist Church and was a member of
the American Legion Post #0002. Survived by loving wife, Dorothy Jean Patrick
Beene; sons, Kenneth D. Jr. and wife, Sharon Beene of Va., Keith D. and wife,
Jamey Beene of Ga., Nelson and wife, Lois Beene of Ga.; seven grandchildren;
four great grandchildren; sisters, Pauline Anderson of Va., Lena Jones of
Knoxville; also several nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will receive
friends Sunday evening, June 3, 2001 from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will
follow visitation at 8 p.m. Schubert Funeral Home, Chapel Wartburg, with Rev.
Mike Ramage officiating. Graveside services will be Tuesday June 5, 2 p.m. in
the Tenn. State Veterans Cemetery Knoxville, Tenn.
WALKER, CYNTHIA "CINDY" - age 41, of Oakdale passed away June 1, 2001 at
Methodist Medical Center. She was a member of Oakdale United Methodist
Church. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends. Survivors:
husband, Dana Walker of Oakdale, Tenn.; brothers, Stephen Stinson of Chicago,
Joseph Stinson of LaFollette. Funeral 11 a.m. Monday at Oakdale United
Methodist Church. Rev. Howard N. Hinds and Rev. Cynthia Thompson officiating.
Interment in Roane Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 3-6
p.m. Sunday at Kyker Funeral Home, Harriman. At the family's request, in lieu
of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society
or the Oakdale United Methodist Church.
