Johny Clayton King
April 25, 1921 - Dec. 3, 2001
Johny Clayton King, 80, of Crossville, passed away Dec. 3, 2001. Funeral
services were conducted Dec. 6 from the chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home, with
burial in Crossville City Cemetery. The Rev. Kenneth Young and the Rev.
Linus Vaughn officiated. Disabled American Veterans Chapter 32 presented the
Firing Detail and Taps at graveside.
Mr. King was born April 25, 1921, in Morgan County, TN, the son of William
J. and Ethel Jones King.
He was a tool and die maker, and of the Baptist faith. He served in the U.S.
Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Jane Atkins of Crossville; daughters, Joyce
Capps and Trudy Wegman, both of Crossville; sons, Terry King of Cincinnati,
OH, and Tom King of Crossville; sister, Myrtle Allen of Crossville;
brothers, Harold King of Cincinnati and Randy King of Crossville; 10
grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Pallbearers were Shawn Capps, Jason Ward, Richie Wegman, Wayne King, Robert
Netherton and Johnnie King. Honorary pallbearers were Mel Sage, John
DeGrote, Marshall Tabor, Archie Kendrick and Junior Morris.
Bilbrey Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
