DePERSIO, DR. JOHN - an Army Physician, longtime Oak Ridge Physician
GALLAHER, WARREN LEE - age 32, of Oak Ridge, Tenn. formerly of Harriman,
HUTSON, MILDRED RUTH - age 89 of Lake City, Tenn. in the Oak Grove Community

DePERSIO, DR. JOHN - an Army Physician, longtime Oak Ridge Physician, and for
many years Chief of the Medical Staff at Oak Ridge Hospital, passed away
Saturday, June 1, 2002, at his home. He was 87. A specialist in Internal
Medicine, he came to Oak Ridge in 1944, a Captain as one of the U. S. Army's
Medical Team caring for the scientists and other workers participating in
World War II's Manhattan Project. He became Board-Certified in his specialty
early in his career. He was born August 23, 1914, in New York, N.Y., the son
of Dominic J. and Mary McCarthy DePersio. He was a 1935 graduate of Villanova
University and a 1939 graduate of Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia,
Penn. Dr. DePersio is survived by three sons, Dr. Edward J. DePersio, a
Radiation Oncologist and his wife, Pamelia DePersio of Wenatchee, Wash., Dr.
Gerard J. DePersio, an Anesthesiologist, of Los Angeles, Calif., and Dr.
Richard J. DePersio, an Otolargyngologist and his wife, Melissa DePersio of
Knoxville, and a daughter, Janet DePersio Sullivan and her husband, Dr.
William G. Sullivan of Blacksburg, Va. All of his children attended Oak Ridge
Schools and graduated from Oak Ridge High School. He is also survived by nine
grandchildren, Danielle DePersio, David DePersio, Lauren DePersio, Katherine
DePersio, Gerard DePersio, Richard J. DePersio, Jr., Robert J. DePersio,
Tracy Sullivan Turner, and William Sullivan; three great- grandchildren,
Alexander Turner, Audrey Turner, and Anna Turner, and a sister, Muriel
DePersio of Ridgewood, N.J. His parents preceded him in death, as did two
brothers, Dr. Robert DePersio, a former Oak Ridge Obstetrician / Gynecologist
and the Rev. Edward DePersio, a priest who spent his life as a missionary in
the Philippines. The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday,
June 7 Martin Oak Ridge Funeral Home. The funeral will be conducted at 10:30
a.m. Saturday, June 8, 2002, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Oak Ridge, with
Fr. Sam Sturm officiating with interment following in Oak Ridge Memorial
Park. Martin Oak Ridge Funeral Home, in charge of arrangements.
GALLAHER, WARREN LEE - age 32, of Oak Ridge, Tenn. formerly of Harriman,
passed away May 31, 2002 at UT Hospital. Warren was a 1988 graduate of
Harriman High School an avid Florida Gator Fan, and dedicated softball Coach
for the Diamond Dodgers Fast-Pitch Softball Academy in Rockwood. He was a
very loving and devoted father, son, and brother and was loved by all who
knew him. He was preceded in death by his father, Rufus Hill, Jr.; and
grandparents, Herschel and Myrtle (Myers) Gallaher. He leaves to cherish his
loving memory, 2 daughters, Candace Leigh Gallaher of Oak Ridge and Taylor
Tahnee Gallaher of Knoxville; mother, Hattie Gallaher of Harriman; and a
devoted sister, Regina Gallaher of Harriman; one brother, David Inman of
Ohio; grandfather, Rufus Hill, Sr. of Emory Gap; two aunts, Lucille Dean of
Ohio and Judy (Spencer) Anderson of Harriman; four uncles, Homer (Yvonne)
Gallaher of Kingston, Jackie Gallaher of Harriman, David and Wilmer Gallaher
of Ohio; two nieces, Marinea and Arissa Inman; two nephews, Malcom and Isaiah
Inman; special cousins, LaToya and Jerome Anderson of Nashville, Rodney
Gallaher of Oak Ridge; special friends, Michelle Fortner of Oak Ridge, David
Johnson of Kingston, Aaron Harkness of Oak Ridge, Dorenda Johnson of Harriman
and Biker Crew, and a host of great aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Funeral 8 p.m. Wednesday at Kyker Funeral Home Chapel in Harriman with Rev.
Alvin Douglas officiating. Interment 11 a.m. Thursday at New Bazeltown
Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Kyker

HUTSON, MILDRED RUTH - age 89 of Lake City, Tenn. in the Oak Grove Community,
passed away Sunday, June 2, 2002 at the UT Medical Center in Knoxville, Tenn.
She was a member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church. She was a loving mother,
grandmother and great grandmother. She loved her church and also loved
working in her flowers. She was preceded in death by her husband, Verney
Hutson; parents, John & Martha Gaylor Duncan; daughters, Sue Moneymaker,
Margie McCoy; granddaughter, Tammy McCoy; sisters, Phyllis Sharp, Lucille
Champion, Dorcey Duncan; brothers, Kermit, Bert & Willard Duncan. Survivors:
daughters, Wilma Harper & husband, Eddie, of Portland, Tenn., Judy Golden &
husband, Arnold of Lake City, Tenn.; granddaughters she raised, Debbie McCoy
Rann of Ringgold, Ga., Renee McCoy Hundley of Vienna, Virginia;
grandchildren, Sonja Burton of Portland, Tenn., Carolyn Moneymaker of
Norfork, Va., Roger Moneymaker of Memphis, Tenn., Scott Harper of Cookville,
Tenn.; 5 great grandchildren; sister, Louise Gross of Knoxville, Tenn.;
brothers, Thomas Duncan of Knoxville, Tenn., Duane Duncan of Dayton, Ohio;
several nieces & nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. The
family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 5, 2002 from 6-8 p.m. at the
Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Lake City with the funeral service following at
8 p.m. in the chapel with the Rev. Larry Foust and Rev. Mark Acres
officiating. Interment will be Thursday June 6, 2002 at 11 a.m. at the Oak
Grove Cemetery in Lake City. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Lake City in
charge of all arrangements.
