JAMES HERMAN HOLLOWAY, 85, of Oliver Springs, died this morning, June 4, 2002
at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.
He was born June 2, 1917, in Anderson County, the son of Blanche Scarbrough
and James Birch Holloway. Mr. Holloway was a United States Army veteran of
World War II.
He came to this area in 1987 after retiring in 1982 from R.R. Donnelley &
Sons Co. in Crawfordsville, Ind., where he was a security guard.
Mr. Holloway was a member of Kelleytown Baptist Church and the Masonic Blue
Lodge, both in Oliver Springs.
He and his wife, Ila Mae Wilson Holloway, who survives him, would have
celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Oct. 10.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his brother, Roy Glenn Holloway
and his wife, Margaret, of Tipton, Ga.; his sister, Dorothy Hubbard of
Englewood; his brothers-in-law, Herbert C. Wilson and his wife, Beulah, of
Oliver Springs and Otis L. Wilson and his wife, Eloise of Kingston; and his
sister-in-law, Bonnie Logan and her husband, Jack, of Muscle Shoals, Ala.
Mr. Holloway is also survived by his niece, Mary L. Miller and her husband,
James M. Miller, of Oliver Springs; his grandnephew, Troy Miller of Oliver
Springs; his grandniece, Dawne Umstead and her husband, Scott, of Karns, and
their son, Miciah; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia
Ann Holloway Anglin, who died in 1973.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 6, at Anderson
Memorial Gardens, 640 Oliver Springs Highway, Clinton. The Rev. Garvan Walls
and the Rev. Tommy Hensley will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 5, at
Weatherford Mortuary.

VIOLA FREELS LETNER, 55, of Rockwood, died Sunday, June 2, 2002, at Roane
Medical Center in Harriman.
Born Jan. 19, 1947, in the Windrock community of Anderson County, she was the
daughter of John and Verdia Dunlap Freels, who are deceased. She was a
homemaker and had lived in Rockwood for the past 25 years.
A former resident of Oliver Springs, Mrs. Letner was a member of Union Valley
Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Harold Letner; three sons, Mike Freels and
his wife, Penny, of Rockwood, Curtis Taylor of Dandridge and Randall Taylor
and his wife, Connie, of Korea; her daughter, Melissa Patterson of
Sevierville; and eight grandchildren.
Mrs. Letner is also survived by two brothers, Lonas Freels of Harriman and
Leonard Nelson and his wife, Margaret, of Oliver Springs; and six sisters,
Alice Goodman, Ethel Ward and her husband, Charles, Gladys Mullis, Annie
Rickett and Blanch Halburnt, all of Oliver Springs, and Bessie Gilmore and
her husband, Cordell, of Harriman.
The funeral will be held at 8 tonight, June 4, in the chapel of Sharp Funeral
Home in Oliver Springs with the Rev. David Johnson officiating.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 5, at
Smith/Freels Cemetery in the Batley community.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at the funeral home.

JOSEPH CARTER HALL Jr., 70, of Kingston, died Sunday, June 2, 2002, at
Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.
He was a graduate of Oklahoma State University and he was a retired
lieutenant commander of the United States Navy.
Mr. Hall and his family had lived in Kingston for 41 years. During that time,
he worked at the Oak Ridge Y-12 Plant, Oak Ridge National Laboratory and the
Oak Ridge K-25 Site.
He was president of the International Society of Manufacturing Engineers and
was listed in "Who's Who in American Engineers." Mr. Hall was a member of the
Kingston Masonic Lodge and a past president of the Kingston Lions Club.
He is survived by his wife, Jere Hogue Hall; his daughter, Andrea Elise
Bradley and her husband, Rick Bradley; his son, James Eric Hall and his wife,
Susan Hall; his mother, Ruth Allyn Barnett; and two grandchildren, Joseph and
Jacob.
Mr. Hall was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Carter Hall Sr.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, June 5, at Kingston
United Methodist Church. The Rev. Reed Shell and the Rev. Charles Bryan will
officiate. Jack Elkins, Jim Louckes, Jim Delker, Darrell Nelson, Dave Cuneo,
Scott McGill, Jack Arp, Mike Roddy and Jimmy Heiskell have been named
honorary pallbearers.
The family requests that any memorials be in the form of donations to the
Roane County Heritage Committee, P.O. Box 738, Kingston, TN 37763; or to the
Southwest Indian Foundation, P.O. Box 86, Gallup, NM 87301; or to the
American Cancer Society, Anderson County Unit, c/o Lee Costanzo, 103 Case
Lane, Oak Ridge, TN 37830.
Brown Funeral Home in Kingston is handling the arrangements.

WARREN LEE GALLAHER, 32, of Oak Ridge, died Friday, May 31, 2002, at the
University of Tennessee Medical Center at Knoxville of injuries sustained in
a motorcycle accident.
A former resident of Harriman, Mr. Gallaher was a 1988 graduate of Harriman
High School.
He was a softball coach for the Diamond Dodgers Fast-pitch Softball Academy
in Rockwood.
His family said he was a very loving and devoted father, son and brother and
was loved by all who knew him. He was also an avid fan of the Florida Gators,
they said.
Mr. Gallaher is survived by two daughters, Candace Leigh Gallaher of Oak
Ridge and Taylor Tahnée Gallaher of Knoxville; his mother, Hattie Gallaher of
Harriman; his sister, Regina Gallaher of Harriman; his brother, David Inman
of Ohio; and his grandfather, Rufus Hill Sr. of Emory Gap.
He is also survived by two aunts, Lucille Dean of Ohio and Judy Anderson and
her husband, Spencer, of Harriman; four uncles, Homer Gallaher and his wife,
Yvonne, of Kingston, Jackie Gallaher of Harriman, and David Gallaher and
Wilmer Gallaher, both of Ohio; two nieces, Marinea Inman and Arissa Inman;
two nephews, Malcom Inman and Isaiah Inman; cousins he considered special,
LaToya and Jerome Anderson of Nashville and Rodney Gallaher of Oak Ridge; and
many other great-aunts, great-uncles and cousins.
Friends he considered special are Michelle Fortner of Oak Ridge as well as
David Johnson of Kingston, Aaron Harkness of Oak Ridge, Dorenda Johnson of
Harriman and the biker crew.
Mr. Gallaher was preceded in death by his father, Rufus Hill Jr.; and his
grandparents, Herschel and Myrtle Myers Gallaher.
The funeral will be held at 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 5, in the chapel of Kyker
Funeral Home in Harriman with the Rev. Alvin Douglas officiating.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 6, at the New
Bazeltown Cemetery in Harriman.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral
home.

A funeral Mass for Dr. JOHN D. DEPERSIO, 87, of Oak Ridge, will be held at
10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 8, at St. Mary's Catholic Church. The Rev. Sam
Sturm will officiate.
Dr. DePersio, a retired Oak Ridge physician who was chief of staff at Oak
Ridge Hospital from 1947 to 1959, died Saturday, June 1, at his home.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, June 7, at Martin
Oak Ridge Funeral Home. A Rosary will be said at 8 p.m.
Burial will be Saturday at Oak Ridge Memorial Park.

WILLIE MCLEMORE of Oak Ridge died Monday, June 3, 2002, at Briarcliff Health
Care Center.
Martin Oak Ridge Funeral Home is handling the arrangements, which were
incomplete this morning.
