PRICE, OPAL YORK - age 78, of LaFollette, passed away Tuesday morning, June
11 at St. Mary's Medical Center, Campbell County. She attended LaFollette
Church of God. Preceded in death by: husbands, Garrett York and Raymond
Price; daughter, Bernice Turner; and twin daughters, Helen and Ellen York.
Survivors: sons, Tommy York, Briceville, Gary York, LaFollette, Donnie York,
LaFollette and step-son, Hoil York, Ohio; daughters, Joyce Ann Berry,
LaFollette, Carolyn White LaFollette; step-daughters, Geraldine Wilson, Ohio,
Christine Osborne, Ohio, Billie Jean Wright, LaFollette and Bobbie June
Allison, Florida; 14 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren. Funeral service 8
p.m. Thursday, June 13, at Cross Funeral Home. Rev Norman Stallings
officiating. Interment 10 a.m. Friday at Fincastle Cemetery. The family will
receive friends 6 till 8 p.m. Thursday prior to the funeral service.

POYNTER, RONALD LYNN - age 59, of Lake City, passed away at home on Tuesday
June 11, 2002, after a courageous battle with cancer. He loved life and
enjoyed living each day to the fullest. Preceded in death by father, Orville
Earl Poynter. Survivors: loving wife of 35 years, Brenda Duncan Poynter, two
sons, Ronald Poynter Jr. and wife, Linda of LaFollette, and Derek Poynter of
Lake City; daughter, Stacey Mysinger and husband, Mike of Knoxville, one
granddaughter' Shayla Poynter of LaFollette; mother, Mary Pollard and
husband, L.C. of Knoxville; brother, Stanley Poynter of Lake City; special
sisters-in-law, Phyllis Johnson and husband, George of Clinton, Peggy Duncan
and husband, Lee Holman of Stockbridge, Ga., and Jennie Poynter of Knoxville;
brothers-in-law, Ray Duncan of Lake City, Benny Joe (Pete) Duncan and wife,
Kay of Indianapolis, Ind., Jerry Duncan and wife, Lois Hartwell of Georgia,
and niece and nine nephews. Retired from he U.S. Postal Service with 37 years
of service. He retired while Postmaster at Robbins, Tenn. A former
businessman of Lake City, whom owned and operated R&R Sporting Goods for 11
years. He was a member and held all of the offices of the Lake City Jaycee's.
He was honored with lifetime memberships into the U.S. Volunteer Corp. And
J.C.I. Senators. He was a member and held all of the offices of the V.F.W.
Served four years in the U.S.A.F. A graduate of Young High School in 1961. He
coached Little League Grasshopper Football for Lake City for seven years, and
coached several teams to championships. Hobbies include flowers, yard work,
fishing, hunting, traveling, and UT Football. Special thanks to Dr. Jerry
Foster, the nurses on the 8th north floor at Fort Sanders Regional Hospital,
Covenant Hospice nurses, and to many special friends that have meant so much.
He was a great husband, father, son, and friend; he will be truly missed by
all. The family will receive friends Thursday, June 13, from 6-8 p.m. at
Holly-Gamble Funeral Home in Lake City, with the funeral service to follow at
8 p.m. Graveside services will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, Friday, June 14, at
11:00 a.m. in Knoxville, Rev. Justin Phillips and Rev. Tom Ballad
officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Cancer
Society, 871 Weisgarber Rd., Knoxville, TN 37909, Covenant Hospice, 700 S.
Illinois Ave., Suite A202, Oak Ridge, TN 37830, or to the charity of your

ROGERS, BRANDON WAYNE - age 20, of Jacksboro, passed away Tuesday, June 11,
2002 at the University of Tennessee Medical Center from injuries sustained in
an automobile accident. He was born July 28, 1981 in Oak Ridge, TN to the
proud parents of Lonnie Wayne & L. Diane Rogers. He was a loving son and
brother. Brandon graduated from the Tennessee Technology Center at Jacksboro
in June 2001 with a degree in Welding and was scheduled to graduate on
Friday, June 14, 2002 with a degree in Machinist at the same institution. He
was preceded in death by: his grandparents, Joe & Nannie Rogers of Jellico,
TN, Susie Marie Lowe of Duff, TN; and brother, Timothy Wayne Rogers of
LaFollette, TN. Brandon is survived by: his loving parents, Lonnie Wayne & L.
Diane Rogers; sisters & brothers- in-law, Kristi E. & Chuck Ivey of
LaFollette, Peggy S. & Ernie N. Ivey of LaFollette, Tonya A. & Michael Poole
of Caryville; 1 niece, Tiffany Marie Russell; 3 nephews, Austin Michael
Poole, Zachary Steven Poole & Alex Wayne Ivey; caring girlfriend, Valerie
Whaley of Caryville; and many other family and friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral services 2 p.m. Friday, June 14, 2002 in the Chapel of Martin Wilson
Funeral Home with Jason Douglas of LaFollette officiating. Interment to
follow in Rogers Family Cemetery, Jellico, TN. The family will receive
friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, June 13, 2002 at Martin Wilson Funeral
Home. Martin Wilson Funeral Home of LaFollette in charge of arrangements.
ROSENBALM, REV. JACK - age 75, of Clinton, went home to be with the Lord on
Tuesday evening, June 11, 2002, at his home, surrounded by his family. He was
a member of Carroll Hollow Baptist Church. He had pastored various area
churches including Mineral Springs Baptist Church, Ridgeview Baptist Church,
Guiding Star Baptist Church, Carroll Hollow Baptist Church, and held many
revivals and preached in several churches throughout the Anderson and
surrounding counties. He was a devoted husband, loving father and
grandfather, and a friend to all. He retired from Bush Brothers Cannery in
Clinton with over 44 years of service. But his main joy in life was his
church work. Preceded in death by parents, James and Frances Nicely
Rosenbalm, and several brothers and sisters. Jack was born December 14, 1926,
in Anderson County. Survivors: loving wife of 52 years, Carrie Lou Rosenbalm
of Clinton; son, Donnie Rosenbalm and wife, Debbie of Andersonville;
daughter, Deborah "Button" West and husband, Mike of Heiskell; five
grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; brother, Ernest Rosenbalm of
Clinton; sister, Neva Parolari of Heiskell; mother-in-law, Ollie Bullock of
Clinton; sisters-in-law, Jean and Rev. Bill Sharp of Heiskell, Marie and
Everette Brock of Clinton, and Faye and Lynn Parks of Clinton;
brothers-in-law, Bobby and Roberta Bullock of Crossville, and Marvin Bullock
of Crossville, and several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends. The family
will receive friends 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., Thursday, June 13, 2002, at Holley
Gamble Funeral Home, in Clinton, with funeral service following at 8:00 p.m.,
in the chapel with Rev. Gary Smith and Rev. Archie Nelson officiating.
Interment will be held 1:00 p.m., Friday, at Oak Ridge Memorial Park. Holley
Gamble Funeral Home, of Clinton, in charge of all arrangements.
