Stella Faye Davis, 72, of the Joyner community in Morgan County,

Stella Faye Davis, 72, of the Joyner community in Morgan County, died
Wednesday, July 20, 2005. She was a member of Union Baptist Church and enjoyed
gardening. Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her parents, George and Tennie Sweat;
her husband, James Edgar Davis; and by a sister and four brothers, Elizabeth
Harmon, and Emmett, Cloman, Hubert and Howard Sweat. She is survived by two
daughters, Carol Jan Miller of Harriman, and Connie Renee and Rick Phillips of
Oak Ridge; a granddaughter, Keturah Tamar Jones of Harriman; a
stepgranddaughter, Tori Phillips; four sisters, Lucy Sweat of the Joyner community, Orpha
Holloway of Indiana, Bonnie Jones of Oak Ridge and Minnie White, also of Oak
Ridge; and four brothers, Jesse Sweat of Spring City, Brice Sweat of Arizona,
Houston Sweat of the Joyner community, and Verlin Sweat of the Dyllis community.
The funeral will be held at 8 p.m. Friday, July 22, 2005, at Schubert Funeral
Home in Wartburg with the Rev. David Kunsman officiating. The graveside service
and burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 23, at the Union Baptist Church
Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight at the
funeral home. Schubert Funeral Home in Wartburg is in charge of arrangements.

Onelda H. McCubbins, 95, of Weaverville, N.C., died Thursday, July 21, 2005,
in North Carolina. She was born Sept. 10, 1910, in Roane County, the daughter
of Henry Halburnt and Docia Ruffner Halburnt. She lived in Oliver Springs
before moving to Weaverville 10 years ago. Mrs. McCubbins was a graduate of
Lincoln Memorial University and she taught elementary education in the Tennessee
public school system for 44 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church in
Oliver Springs. She was preceded in death by her parents. Mrs. McCubbins is
survived by her husband of 61 years, Martin McCubbins of Weaverville; her son,
Doug McCubbins and wife, Sarah Duval, of Weaverville; her sister, Evelyn Cross of
Raleigh, N.C.; and by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family
members. A graveside service and burial will be held at noon Tuesday, July 26,
2005, at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery in Oliver Springs. Sharp Funeral
Home in Oliver Springs is in charge of arrangements.

Anne M. Jukes Olka, 79, of Oak Ridge, died Thursday, July 21, 2005, at Fort
Sanders Parkwest Medical Center in Knoxville. She was born March 22, 1926 in
Bear Lake, Pa., the daughter of Edward John Jukes and Bertha Arloa Chapman
Jukes. On April 1, 1946, she married Howard Ransford Olka and they came to Oak
Ridge in October of that same year. Her husband, a machinist in the metal
preparations division of the Y-12 Plant, retired Dec. 31, 1979, and died April 18,
1988. Mrs. Olka was one of the original members of St. Mary's Catholic Church and
was very active in the Family Member of Knights of Columbus, Father McRedmond
Council 3175 in Oak Ridge, a former Family Member of Knights of Columbus,
Monsignor F. D. Grady 4th Degree Assembly in Knoxville, and Charter Family Member
of Knights of Columbus, Pope John Paul II 4th Degree Assembly in Knoxville.
In earlier years, Mrs. Olka had been active with the Amateur Radio Club. She
was also an avid collector of Fontanini figurines and had an extensive
collection. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Olka was preceded in death by
four sisters, Amelia Jukes, Emily Jukes, Ethel Jukes and Edith Jukes; and four
brothers, Duane Jukes, Max Jukes, Ernest Jukes and Wendell Jukes. She is
survived by her sons, Joseph Olka and wife, Kathy, of Winchester, William Olka and
Christopher Olka, both of Oak Ridge, and Michael Olka and wife, Anne-Marie,
of Titusville, Fla.; a daughter, Mary Moser and husband, John, of Rock Springs,
Ga.; 15 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; and 37 nieces and nephews.The
funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 23, 2005, at St. Mary's
Catholic Church with the Rev. John Arthur Orr, the Rev. Michael Woods and the Rev.
John Apiah officiating. The burial will follow at Oak Ridge Memorial Park.
The family asks that any memorials be in the form of contributions to St. Mary's
School Scholarship Fund, St. Mary's Church Gift Campaign, Knoxville Catholic
High Scholarship Fund, The Pregnancy Help Center through Catholic Charities,
the American Heart Association of Anderson County, Helen Ross McNabb Breast
Cancer Awareness Center, or the donor's favorite charity. The family will receive
friends from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight at Weatherford Mortuary, with a rosary to be

Moneree Hooper Waldroup, 87, of Oak Ridge, died Wednesday, July 20, 2005, at
the Life Care Center of Morgan County in Wartburg. She was born April 16,
1918, in Clay County, N.C., the daughter of Leonard and Lillie Kitchens Hooper.
She and her husband of 69 years, Craig Waldroup, who survives her, came to Oak
Ridge in 1952, after a brief time in Canton, Ohio. Mrs. Waldroup worked for
many years at J.C. Penney and as a seamstress at the Nettie Lee Shop. She was a
member of Calvary Baptist Church and enjoyed attending functions at the church,
as well as sewing and gardening. In addition to her parents, she was preceded
in death by a brother and sister, Ronald Hooper and Beverly Hooper; and by a
son, Melvin Waldroup. In addition to her husband, she is survived by
grandsons, Greg Waldroup and wife, Anna, of Clinton, and Gary Waldroup and wife,
Sharon, of Loudon; great-grandchildren, Kari Merrit and husband, Donnie, of Oliver
Springs, Kori Phillips and husband, Greg, of Briceville, Gary Joe Waldroup of
Oliver Springs, Bradley Ray and DeAnna Waldroup of Clinton; two
great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Benelee Hogsed and husband, Ellis, and a brother, Donald
Hooper and wife, Zelpha, all of Hayesville, N.C.; and special friends, Mike
and Laura McNair and Bob and Joy Stout, all of Oak Ridge, Hilda DeSha of
Harriman, and Don and Nora Long of Knoxville. The funeral will be held at 6 p.m.
Sunday, July 24, 2005, at Calvary Baptist Church in Oak Ridge with the Rev. Don
Long officiating. The graveside service and burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday,
July 25, at Oak Ridge Memorial Park. The family asks that any memorials be in
the form of contributions to Calvary Baptist Church, Jodi Gouge Missionary
Fund, 163 N. Jefferson Circle, Oak Ridge, TN 37830. The family will receive
friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the church. An on-line guest book can be signed
