Born June 12, 1926 in Coalwood, WV; the daughter of the late W.C. and Mary Sue Winfrey Blevins. Nancy was a deeply loving mother, grandmother and sister, and had been a homemaker in Bluewell for 66 years. Mrs. Galloway was a graduate of Lincoln Memorial University and was an educator at Sunbright School for more than 30 years, teaching high school English and serving as librarian. She was a charter member of the Beta Beta Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma, a professional honor society of women educators. She was active for many years in Women of the Church and worked as a volunteer in the Nursery. PICQUET, JAMES W., SR. - age 84, of Knoxville passed away Wednesday, December 12, 2007. He was a member of Magnolia Avenue United Methodist Church. He retired as co-owner of Sun-Graphics Printing Company in Oak Ridge. Member of Knoxville Rotary and the Elks Lodge in Oak Ridge. James and his mother formerly owned and operated Picquet Home Furnishing. He was a veteran of WW II in the US Army Air Corp where he served in the 746th sqnd., 456th bomb group in Italy. He is preceded in death by his mother, Louise Marie Picquet; and father, Thomas Picquet; and grandson, Austin Gill. SEAMAN, HENRY EMMERSON - Brookland Street, Sydney, passed away Wednesday, December 12, 2007, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital after a brief illness. Born December 14, 1912, in Silver City, New Mexico, USA, to the late Job H. and Ruth R. (Trenholm) Seaman. Shortly after birth, Henry moved with his family to Amherst, NS, where he grew up and graduated from Cumberland County Academy. He then attended Acadia University, graduating with a Bachelor of Science (major Chemistry) in 1933. Upon graduation, he engaged in farming and lumbering in the Barronsfield and Minudie areas of Cumberland County. He served in the RCAF for the last three years of the Second World War, teaching calculus to the air crew for some of that time and later with Classified Security work in Ottawa. Upon discharge, he resumed farming and lumbering up until 1955 when he decided to find another occupation. He then spent several years with the Nova Scotia Department of Public Works, followed by other projec!
ts with an architectural firm in Halifax. His final employment was contract manager for Stott Corporation in Sydney, NS. He is survived by his son, J. William "Bill" (Doris), Moncton, NB; daughter, Ruth M. (Crampton H. "Dusty") Helms, Morristown, Tennessee, USA; son, Job A., Sydney, NS; grandchildren, Wayne (Carol) Seaman, Marilyn (Lorenzo) Seaman-Gri and Mark (Susan) Seaman, Debora (Anthony) Long, Crampton Jr. (Mary), Thomas (Lucy) and Patrick (Dena) Helms; and ten great-grandchildren. Besides his wife of over 62 years, Marjorie "Penny" (Morris) Seaman (1997), he was predeceased by his sister, Anne (Porter) (Blackett) in 1978 and brother, John T. in 2002. SHUPE, ROBERT D. - age 70, died Monday November 26, 2007 at his residence. He was a graduate of the United States Naval Academy, class of 1961. He was a naval aviator who flew the F-4 aircraft and retired after 22 years of service. He later worked for the Virginia State government in the Department of Planning and Budget as a senior budget analyst for 15 years. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Lee Shupe. Robert is survived by his wife of 42 years, Jacquelyn Shupe of Shelbyville; his two sons, Jeffrey Vielock of Beeville, TX and Robert D.
