I read the article in the Nashville Tennessean and was appalled, that people were perceived to be too occupied,to care
about neglected cemeteries. I also read in the Maury Co,Tn section, where a St John's Episcopal Church and Cemetery,
was also damage,to the estimate of about $100,000. My solution to neglected cemeteries,is for Rutherford Co,to pass a
small cemetery tax. The tax revenue could be use to mow these small cemeteries. I also noticed that the next County
Government meeting is this coming Monday.
Union County,Illinois did this in the 1970's re their neglected graveyards and believe it worked, fine.
As family researchers,if we do not come up with a solution, then the problem is not solved. Kevin Kelly,St Louis
