I have a couple of McLins in my Grier-McKnight family d-base. William McLin
died before 1835 in Wayne Co. IL. He married Sally McKnight in 1833 in
Wayne County. Sally was the daughter of Richard Lewis McKnight, born 1784,
died at Taylor Mingle Hollow, Cannon Co, TN. The McKnights and Griers in
this d-base migrated to TN from Iredell County, NC.
Also, David McLin is listed among the founders of the Cumberland
Presbyterian Church (1810). He was a member of Cumberland Presbytery which
convened at Beech meetinghouse in Sumner County, TN.
