BROOKSBANK, CAROLYN JANE BENDER - age 70, passed away on Wednesday, January
20, 1999 at Royal Care Nursing Home in Harriman following an extended illness.
She was born on May 13, 1928 in Angola, Indiana. She was preceded in death by
her parents, Herbert and Alline Ruth Bender; brother, Richard Bender and
sisters, Pauline Vore and Libby Crosby. She is survived by her husband of 49
years, Robert Edwin "Bob" Brooksbank, Sr. of Kingston; her daughters and sons-
in-law, Becky and Bob Day and Betsi and Kent Adcox, all of Kingston; her sons
and daughters-in-law, Robert, Jr. and Lisa Cox Brooksbank of Cookeville, Rick
and Donna Tedder Brooksbank of Kingston and Roger and Darlina Pesterfield
Brooksbank of Lenoir City; her grandchildren, Jason, Jonathan and Michael Day
of Kingston, Jeremy and Aaron Brooksbank of Cookeville, Richard and Sarah
Brooksbank of Kingston and Ryan and Cody Brooksbank of Lenoir City; her
brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Henrietta Bender of Lake George, Indiana.
Mrs. Brooksbank was a member of The Kingston United Methodist Church in
Kingston. She was a homemaker and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She
enjoyed singing in the church choir and spending time on the lake with her
family. The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 21, 1999 from 6-8
p.m. at Kyker Funeral Home in Kingston. The funeral will be at the funeral
home at 1:00 p.m. on Friday with Rev. Reed Shell officiating. Interment will
follow at Kingston Memorial Gardens.

PARKER, LAURA GENEVA (nee PATTERSON) - age 82, born in Oliver Springs, Tenn.,
former resident of Clinton and Olmsted Falls, Ohio, now a resident of North
Ridgeville, Ohio, died Tuesday, January 19th at the Center Ridge Nursing Home,
North Ridgeville, Ohio. Mrs. Parker was a homemaker and member of the Jarnigan
Chapel Baptist Church, Clinton. Mrs. Parker is the mother of Creed Fred Parker
(wife, Vonnie) of Fredrick, Md. and Joyce Senz (husband, Kenny) of North
Ridgeville, Ohio; grandmother of Cathy Roberts, J.C. McElhaney, Kenny Senz II
and Michael Parker; great-grandmother of Billy, Jason, and Brandon Roberts and
Tiffany McElhaney. Preceded in death by her husband, Creed W. Parker; her
parents, Emma (nee Thacker) and Pryor Patterson; and brothers, Melvin, Addie,
and Clifton Patterson. The family will receive friends Friday, January 22,
from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. A graveside service will be conducted at 4
p.m. Saturday, January 23, at Sun Set Cemetery, Clinton. Arrangements by
Anderson County Funeral Home, Clinton.

SEXTON, CORA ELIZABETH SLAVEN CLAIBORNE- age 78, of Oneida, passed away
Sunday, January 17, 1999, at Colonial Hills Nursing Home in Maryville, TN.
Member of First Baptist Church of Oneida. Survivors: daughters, Charlotte
Wintermeyer of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., Carolyn Bleakley of Santa Fe, New Mexico;
granddaughters, Kristi Wintermeyer, Stephanie Weiss, Jennifer and Sarah
Bleakley; two great-grandchildren; sisters, Pearl Thompson and Nora Slaven;
brother, Hollis Slaven, all of Oneida. West-Murley Funeral Home in Oneida, in
charge.
