Hi...I have just joined this list in hopes of finding more information on my
families. The surnames I am interested in are Gibson, McCoy, Willoughby,
Zachary, Ellis, Bowling, Story, Vanderpool and Flowers. I was born and
reared in Scott Co. TN. I now live in Knoxville, TN.

My father's name is Herstle (Buck) Norman Gibson born Jan. 16, 1919 and
died Jan. 24, 1984 in Scott Co. TN. My mother's name is Etta Arbanie
(Willoughby) Gibson born May 26, 1923 and died Sept. 15, 1989 in Scott Co.
TN. I will be posting for all the surnames I have listed, but right now I
am working on my Gibson line.

I have traced a direct line from Herstle Gibson to Isaac Gibson and his wife
Ritty Gibson (her maiden name was Gibson)

Generation 1
(1) Isaac Gibson b. 1770 in NC. d. Bef. 1837 , Knox Co. KY. He married 1.
Ritty Gibson b. 1770 in NC. d. Abt. 1827 in Knox Co. KY. 2. Dicy after
1827.
Generation 2
(2) Major Gibson (Isaac 1) b. 1795 in NC. d. ? He married Elizabeth
Rhodes b. 1795 in SC.
Generation 3
(3) Thomas Gibson (Major 2, Isaac 1) b. 1828 in KY. d. 9/15/1862. He
married Militha (Martha) Maiden.
Generation 4
(4) Alfred Gibson (Thomas 3, Major 2, Isaac 1) b.4/18/1858 in Knox Co. KY.
He married 1. Arena Miracle. 2. Sarah Angeline Bowling b. 7/30/1879 in Scott
Co. TN.
Generation 5
(5) Thomas P. Gibson ( Alfred 4, Thomas 3, Major 2, Isaac 1) b. 4/16/1883 in
Norma, TN. (Scott Co.) d. 1/21/1939 in New River, TN. (Scott Co.) He
married Maude Ethel McCoy b. 7/22/1890, d. 2/6/1979. Thomas and Maude
Gibson are my grandparents.

If anyone knows more about Isaac and Ritty Gibson, the information will be
greatly appreciated. I have data on these Gibsons and their siblings and
dates. I will gladly share any information I have....Thank you.
