Rev. Stanley Bailey, 50, of LaFollette, died Thursday, Feb. 22, at his home.
He was a member of the Clear Branch Baptist Church.
He is survived by wife Janice Bailey of LaFollette; perents Elvin and Ila
Bailey; sons Mark E. Bailey and Kevin D. Bailey both of LaFollette; brothers
Herman and Edward Bailey of Jacksboro, Lynn, Danny Ray, and Edward Bailey,
all of LaFollette; sisters Florence Ward, Erma Hatmaker and Kathy Silcox all
of Jacksboro, and JoAnn Wilson of LaFollette; and 3 grandchildren
Funeral services were held on Sunday, Feb. 25, at Roach Funeral Memorial
Chapel with Rev. Audie Murray and Rev. Harry James officiating. Interment
was held in the Chadwell Cemetery.
Roach Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.


Laura Elder Crigger, 67, of LaFollette, died Thursday, Feb. 22, at her home.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, Feb. 25, at the Creech Funeral Home
Chapel with Rev. Woodrow Gilbert and Rev. Ralph Tonnyson officiating.
Interment was held in the Capito Cemetery.

Patsy A. Davis, 65, of LaFollette, died Sunday, Feb. 18, at the St. Mary's
Medical Center of Campbell County. She was a member of the Central Baptist
Church in South Gate, Mi.
She was preceded in death by parents Roscoe and Mary Wagner Davis; brothers
Argi, Carl, Stanley, and John Davis; and sister Dorothy Davis.
She is survived by brother Bob Davis of Fonton, Mi.; sisters Betty Thompson
of Roanoail, Va. and Geraldine Davis of LaFollette.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, Feb. 21, at the Creech Funeral home
Chapel with Rev. Leroy Braden officiating. Interment was held in the Sparp's
Cemetery.

Bonny Kate Heatherly, 71, of Lebanon, Tenn., died Sunday, Feb. 18, at the
University Medical Center in Lebanon. She was of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by husband Robert John Heatherly; parents Oscar
Lee and Callie M. Richardson Ridenour; and two brothers.
She is survived by sons Terry. D. Heatherly of Lebanon and Robert L.
Heatherly of Mt. Juliet; brother Wheeler Ridenour of Jacksboro; sister Trula
Faulkerson of Winchester; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Feb. 20, in the chapel of Martin
Wilson Funeral Home. Interment was held in the Woodlawn Cemetery.

Nannie Marie Heatherly, 79, of 501 East Kentucky Ave., LaFollette died
Sunday, Feb. 25, at the LaFollette Community Nursing Home. Heatherly was a
member of the Ivey Dell Church of God.
She was preceded in death by husband Sam Heatherly; and parents Grover and
Maude Foust Hickey.
She is survived by son Sherman Heatherly of Jacksboro; daughters Patsy
Daugherty of Caryville, Hettie Chapman, Bettie Parks, Robbie Sue muse, and
Barbara Walden all of Jacksboro; sister Edna Turner of LaFollette; and 29
grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, and 2 step-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Monday, Feb. 26, at the Martin Wilson Chapel
with Rev. Randy Comer and rev. Larry Russell officiating. Interment was held
in the Peabody Cemetery.

Danny C. Hensley. 54. of LaFollette, died Thursday, Feb. 22, at his home.
Hensley was in the U.S. Air Force and served during the Vietnam War.
He is survived by parents Claude Cordell Hensley and Florence Imogene
Russell Hensley of LaFollette; daughter Denise Pruitt of Strawberry Plains;
son Kevin Hensley of LaFollette; brother Bobby Hensley of LaFollette; sister
Linda Miller of LaFollette; and 4 grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, Feb. 25, in the chapel of Sharp
Funeral Home with Rev. Tommy Hensley officiating. Interment was held in the
Frost Bottom Cemetery.

Bonnie Sweat Maxwell, 76, died Saturday, Feb. 24, at the Tuomey Healthcare
System. He was a member of the Long Hollow Baptist Church in LaFollette.
She was preceded in death by husband Corbit Maxwell; and parents William
Casper and Ethel Viollett Sweat.
She is survived by son Earl Maxwell of Pelion, S.C.; daughter Nadine Morris
of Sumter; brothers Lee Clayton Sweat and Leon Sweat both of LaFollette,
Glenn Louie Sweat of Conway, and Clarence Sweat of Athens; sisters Opal
DuBose of Sumter and Carolene Sweat Bogard of Pelion; 2 grandchildren and 1
great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Feb. 27, in the Chapel of the Elmore
Hill McCreight Funeral Home with the Rev. John Patrick and Rev. Eddie
Harrington officiating. Interment was held in the Sumter Cemetery.

Kenneth McCarter, 91, of Caryville, died Sunday, Feb. 24, at St. Mary's
Medical Center in Knoxville.
He was preceded in death by daughters Eva and Neva McCarter; sons Condon and
Paul McCarter; parents Minyard and Oakley McCarter; brothers Creed McCarter,
Bruce Ogle, and Coy McCarter; sister Ersa Luke; 1 grandchild and 1
great-grandchild.
He is survived by wife Ruby Waddell McCarter of Caryville; sons Roger
McCarter and James McCarter both of Caryville, Michael McCarter of Lake
City, and Dewey McCarter of Flordia; daughters Alma Johnson of Vero Beach,
Fla., Brenda Dunn of nancy, ky., wanda Wilson of Lincolnton, N.C., and Ann
Furr of Norwood, N.C.; brothers Gentry Ogle of Seymour, Jahu Ogle of
Knoxville, and Johnothan Ogle and Seiverville; sisters Ada Stroud and Mae
Newcomb both of Knoxville; 15 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and 3
great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, Feb. 25, in the Cox-Martin Chapel with
Rev. C.H. Baird officiating. Interment was held in the Shady Grove Baptist
Church Cemetery.

Rev. David Nelson Meadows, 83, of LaFollette, died Tuesday, Feb., at the St.
Mary's Medical Center of Campbell County. He was a member of the victory
Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by son Martin Edward Meadows; and parents David and
Hester Huckaby.
He is survived by wife Nile Jane Meadows; sons Arlis, Arnold, Robert, and
Paul Meadows all of LaFollette; daughters Marie Moore of Speedwell, Shirley
Adams of Fla., Fay Poston, Norma Jean Helton, Betty Sue Morgan, all of
LaFollette; 31 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Feb. 22, in the Chapel of Martin Wilson
Funeral Home with Rev. Albert Wilson officiating. Interment was held in the
Victory Cemetery.

James Earl Parrott, 75, of 308 Carr Wynn Road, LaFollette, died Thursday,
Feb. 22, at the VA Hospital in Johnson City. He served in the US Army in
WWII. Parrott was a lifetime member of the D.A.V.
He was preceded in death by parents Charles and Ethel Williams Parrott;
brother Charles Edward Parrott; and sister June Darlene Parrott Bell.
He is survived by wife Hattie Mae Parrott of LaFollette; son James E.
Parrott Jr. of Clinton; sons Charles and Robert Parrott both of LaFollette;
and 1 grandchild.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, Feb. 24 in the Chapel of Martin
Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Hatfield officiating. Interment was held
in the Campbell Memorial Gardens.

Lela Roysden, 68, of Oliver Springs, died Friday, Feb. 23, at her residence.
She was a member of New Pilot Baptist Church in New River.
She was preceded in death by husband Elie Roysden; sons Gene Roysden and
Verlin Carroll; and parents William and Rose Lee Harness Carroll.
She is survived by daughters Reba Poore and Tammy Dugger both of Briceville,
Cassie Roysden of Oak Ridge, Rose Presley of Rockwood, and Melissa Long of
Clinton; sons Thomas Roysden of Oliver Springs, R.C. Carroll of Oak Ridge,
and Clais Roysden of Clinton; sister Betty June Carroll of Oliver Springs;
brother Ramsey Carroll of Oliver Springs; children Johnthan and Angel; 22
grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Monday, Feb. 26, at Grave Hill Baptist Church
with the Rev. Oscar Patterson and rev. John Shaw officiating. Interment was
held in the Grave Hill Cemetery in New River.

Virgie E, Jones Smith, 72, Harriman, of Caryville, died Feb. 26, at Roane
Medical Center. She was a member of Mill Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by husband Jimmy Smith; and parents Arthur and
Bertie Jones.
She is survived by son Greg Smith of Harriman; brother Raymond Jones of
Caryville; and 3 grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, Feb. 28, at the Cross Funeral Home
with Rev. Garvin Walls and Rev. Sonny Harvey officiating. Interment was held
on Thursday in the Campbell Memorial Gardens.

Willie Irene Harmon Smith, 85, of LaFollette, died Sunday, Feb. 25, at St.
Mary's Medical Center of Campbell County. She was a member of the Indiana
Ave. Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by husband Homer Lee Smith; father William Harmon;
mother Carrie Harmon Meredith; sisters Faye Retherford, Oral Alexander and
Mary Ruby Meredith; and brother John Meredith.
He is survived by sons; John E. Smith of Knoxville and Bobby Smith of
LaFollette; daughters Patsy Bowman of Speedwell, Judy Moliue of Knoxville,
and Sandra Lee Richardson of Jacksboro; brother Tivis Meredith Jr. of
LaFollette; sister Joie Ols of Chesterson, Ind.; 14 grandchildren and 22
great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Feb. 27, at the Indiana Ave. Baptist
Church with Rev. Mark Partin officiating. Interment was held in the
Fincastle Cemetery.

Ruth Heatherly Stokes, 79, of LaFollette, died Tuesday, Feb. 20, at St. Mary
's Medical Center of Campbell County. She was a member of Coolidge First
Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by husband William T.(Cat) Heatherly; parents
Gillis and Celia Shepard Brandenburg; sister Girlie White; brother Charles
Brandenburg; and 1 grandchild.
She is survived by daughters Mable Bostic of LaFollette; Robbie Sue Celeski
and Wanda Main both of Westland, Mich., and Magdalene Craven, Canton Mich.;
sisters Elizabeth Henderson of LaFollette, Azlee Helton of Clinton, and Ruby
McCulley of Baltimore.
Funeral services were held on Friday, Feb. 23, at Cross Chapel with Rev.
Hobert McCreary officiating. Interment was held in the Sunrise Cemetery.

Kenneth Wayne Teague, 56, of Dade City, Fla., died Saturday, Feb. 17, at the
Pasco Regional Medical Center in Fla.
He was preceded in death by parents Odie (Siler) Teague and Marshall Teague;
and daughter Mary Lou.
He is survived by daughters Kendred, Genella, and Abra, all of Dade City,
Fla., and Sandra of Tampa; sons Timmy and Marcellino Teague of Dade City,
Fla.; sister Eva Douglas, of Dayton, Ohio; brothers Charles Teague of
Portage, Mich., Don Teague of Nashville, and James Teague of St. Louis; and
14 grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, Feb. 24, at the Llewellyn Funeral
Home in Jellico with Rev. Willie Partin officiating. Interment was held in
the Huddleston Cemetery.

George C. Vincent, 66, of 3002 Championship Way, LaFollette, died Thursday,
Feb. 22, at the St. Mary's Medical Center of Campbell County.
He was preceded on death by parents James and Rose Strong Vincent; and
brother John D. Vincent.
He is survived by brother James S. Vincent of Scottsdale, Ariz.
