WELCKER, MINNIE ERLE ROBERTS - age 99, of Knoxville, passed away Monday, June
4, 2001, at Hillcrest North Nursing Home, where she had been a resident for
several years. Mrs. Welcker was born in Roane County on May 8, 1902, one of
10 children of Samuel and Patsy Roberts. A native of Oliver Springs, she
spent her adult life in Knoxville. She was the widow of James Dewitt Welcker
and is survived by her son, James H. Welcker of San Francisco, Calif.; a
niece, Patsy McDonald of Spring, Texas; a nephew, Burl Duncan of Albuquerque,
New Mexico; several great nieces and nephews, and devoted friends of many
years, the R. C. Richardson family. She was of the Episcopal faith and a
member of the Church of the Good Shepherd. The family would like to thank the
staff at Hillcrest for the attentive care and love they gave Minnie while she
was there. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to her church, the
Church of the Good Shepherd, 5337 Jacksboro Pike, Knoxville, TN 37918. Family
and friends will meet at the main entrance to New Gray Cemetery 12:45 p.m.
Wednesday June 6, 2001, for graveside services at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Henry
Swann officiating. Friends may call at their convenience at Rose Mortuary
Broadway Chapel.
BULLEN, MR. R. COLIN - age 54, of Kingston, Tenn., went home to be with
Jesus, Monday, June 4, 2001, in Patricia Neal Rehabilitation Center,
Knoxville, Tenn. He was born January 8, 1947, in Wartburg, Tenn. He was a
member of the Liberty Baptist Church and was preceded in death by his
grandparents, Murrell and Anna Redmon and Cleveland and Cornelia Bullen. He
will be deeply missed by his wife of 22 years, Mrs. Patrice Bullen of
Kingston; son and daughter-in-law, Kelly and Suzanne Bullen of
Goodlettsville, and Brad Bullen of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; daughter and
son-in-law, Jeneen and Steven Kohler of Gallatin; parents, Raymond and Ruth
Redmon Bullen of Wartburg; four grandchildren, Alyse, Bryce, Riley and Mason;
brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Vickie Bullen of Wartburg; sister and
brother-in-law, Alice and A. J. Johnson of Knoxville, and other relatives and
friends. Funeral services will be held Tuesday evening 8 p.m. in the Schubert
Funeral Home, Wartburg with Rev. David Acres, Rev. Robert Meers, and Rev.
Ross Williford officiating. Graveside services will be held Wednedsay 11 a.m.
Liberty Cemetery, Wartburg. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening
from 6-8 p.m. at the Schubert Funeral Home, Wartburg.
