BAIRD, MR. DONALD "PSYCHO" L. - age 55, of Nashville, formerly of Lake City,
passed away on Tuesday, April 16, 2002. Visitation from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m.
Friday, April 19, 2002, at the Cox-Martin Funeral Home. Memorial Service 7:00
p.m. Friday, April 19, 2002, at the Cox-Martin Funeral Home Chapel with
Father Michael Woods officiating. Interment 1:30 p.m. Saturday, April 20,
2002, at the Oak Ridge Memorial Gardens in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. In lieu of
flowers, the family request, memorial donations be made to the American Liver
Association. Cox-Martin Funeral Home, of Lake City, in charge of arrangements.
STEPHENS, HELEN NADINE HEATHERLY - age 76, of Clinton, went home to be with
the Lord on Tuesday, April 16, 2002, at St. Mary's Medical Center in
Knoxville, after a brief battle with cancer. At the time of her death, Mrs.
Stephens was surrounded by her loving family. She was a member of Clinton
First Baptist Church. She retired in 1984, after 32 years of teaching in the
Campbell and Anderson County School Systems. She was a graduate of Central
High School of Jacksboro and Tennessee Tech University in Cookeville. Mrs.
Stephens was a member of Clinch Bend Chapter of Daughters of the American
Revolution, a founding member of the Lucinda Heatherly Tent Daughter of Union
Veterans, member of Phillissippi Geological Society and Anderson County
Historical Society and Campbell County Historical Society, and the Anderson
County Retired Teachers Association. Preceded in death by parents, Brice and
Emmaline Heatherly, and a cousin who was raised as a brother, Harold
Spangler. She was born July 26, 1925, in Campbell County on the Powell River.
Survivors: husband of 41 years, A. M. Stephens of Clinton; sons, Joseph and
John Stephens, both of Clinton; sisters, Sue Miller and husband, Albert of
LaFollette, Bobbie Kirkpatrick and husband, Clarence "Kirk" of Mt. Juliet;
brothers, Evan Heatherly and wife, Oma of Bon Aqua, and Jack Heatherly and
wife, Tennie of LaFollette, and several nieces and nephews, and a host of
friends and other relatives. The family will receive friends 6:00 - 8:00
p.m., Thursday, April 18, 2002, at Holley Gamble Funeral Home, in Clinton,
with funeral service following at 8:00 p.m., in the chapel with Dr. Paul
Frick officiating. Interment will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday at Bakers Forge
Memorial Cemetery in Campbell County. Memorials may be made to the Family
Life Center Building Fund at Clinton First Baptist Church, P. O. Box 268,
Clinton, Tennessee 37716. Holley Gamble Funeral Home, of Clinton, in charge
of all arrangements.

BROOKS, JERRY L., SR. - of Oak Ridge, passed away Sunday, April 14, 2002, due
to complications of pneumonia and cancer. He was a professional photographer
for Community Support Service. Born in Columbus, Ga., he is preceded in death
by his parents, William Brooks and Agnes Meeks; special brother-in-law,
Wilber Epps. Survivors include his wife of 24 years, Jackie Brooks; son, Jeff
and Mary Brooks of Knoxville; daughter, Jennifer and Skip Brooks of
Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio; son, Jerry and Teresa Brooks of Clinton;
daughter, Terry and Greg Bailey of Knoxville; sister, Helen Epps of Columbia,
S.C.; brother, Jack Craig and Barbara of Florida. Jerry had 11 grandchildren;
four great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service
will be held Saturday, April 20, 2002, 2 p.m. at Holley Gamble Funeral Home,
in Clinton, with pastors Archie Nelson, Jimmy Davidson, and David White
officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests, memorials be made to
Covenant Hospice, 700 S. Illinois Avenue, Oak Ridge, TN 37830.
HARBER, JOHN GILBERT, JR. - age 75 of Clinton, passed away Thursday April 18,
2002 at the Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge. He was a member of Clinton
First Baptist Church. He was born March 30, 1927 in Pennington Gap, Va.,
later moving to Clinton where he worked for Martin Marietta Systems at the
Y-12 Plant in Oak Ridge, retiring after 38 years of service. He married Iva
Deane Burress on March 25, 1956 and together, they had two children, Tracy &
Karen. Preceded in death by father, John Gilbert Harber, Sr. and mother Elma
Orr Harber. Survivors: wife of 46 years, Iva Deane Burress Harber of Clinton;
son, Tracy Harber of Clinton; daughter, Karen Harber of Knoxville;
grandchildren, Gilbert Harber of Clinton, Pablo Salazar of TX; brothers, Glen
Harber & wife, Hazel of Clinton, Paul Harber & wife, Ruby of Crossville,
Aaron Harber & wife, Barbara of Clinton, Roy Lee Harber & wife, Shirley of
Claxton; sister, Beth Harber Foust & husband, Aaron of Clinton; several
nieces & nephews and a host of friends. The family will receive friends 1-2
p.m. Saturday April 20, 2002 at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton with
funeral service following the visitation at 2 p.m. in the chapel with Dr.
Paul Frick officiating. Interment will follow the service at Woodhaven Memory
Gardens in Claxton. Memorials may be made to the Family Life Center c/o
Clinton First Baptist Church, P.O. box 268, Clinton, Tenn. 37717.

JOHNSON, MS. ANNA MAE - age 88, of Cassopolis, Mich., formerly of Lake City,
passed away on Tuesday, April 16, 2002. Visitation 6-8 p.m. Friday, April 19,
2002 at the Cox-Martin Funeral Home. Funeral service 8 p.m. Friday April 19,
2002 at the Cox-Martin Funeral Home Chapel. Interment 11 a.m. Saturday April
20, 2000 at the Indian Bluff Cemetery in the Braden's Flats Community.

MAY, CLANTIE J. - age 70, of Oak Ridge, passed away Wednesday, April 17,
2002, at Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge. Ms. May was of the Baptist
faith, and was retired from Levi Strauss in Knoxville, with over twenty- five
years of service. She was preceded in death by her parents, A. L. Moneymaker
and Edna Coward Moneymaker; husband, Harry C. May, and also by two brothers,
Howard Franklin Moneymaker and Aaron Moneymaker. She is survived by one
brother, A. L. Moneymaker, Jr., and two sisters, Louise Preisel of Clinton,
and Mary Bolton of Manassas, Va., also by several nieces and nephews. Her
family said her hobbies included painting, quilting and reading. The family
received friends Thursday evening between the hours of 6 and 8 p.m. Funeral
services were held at 8:00 p.m., Rev. Garvan Walls officiated. Entombment
will be 10:00 a.m. Friday at the Woodhaven Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.

VITATOE, CARRIE - age 87, of Petros, passed away Wednesday, April 17, 2002 in
the Lifecare Center of Morgan County. She is survived by sisters, Christine
Hickman and Bernice Hammock, both of Knoxville; special friend, Hardman Armes
of Petros; several nephews, nieces, and other relatives and friends. The
family will receive friends Friday evening, April 19, 2002 from 6-7:30 p.m.
at Schubert Funeral Home, Wartburg. Funeral services will begin at 7:30 p.m.
with Rev. Donald Cash and Rev. David Cash officiating. A graveside service
will be held on Saturday morning, 11 a.m. in Petros Cemetery.
