Mark C. Dunba Jr., 79, of Crossville,
Engracia Torregosa "Grace" Garcia
MARK C. DUNBA Jr., 79, of Crossville, died Friday, June 14, 2002, at Country
Place Health Care Center in Crossville.
Born Feb. 7, 1923, in Orlando, Fla., he was the son of Mark Dunbar Sr. and
Eva Wilson Dunbar.
He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II and served with the
392nd Bomb Squad 44. Mr. Dunbar received several decorations and citations,
including the Air Medal with four Oak Leaf Clusters, the Asiatic Pacific
Service Medal with four Bronze Stars, and the Distinguished Flying Cross with
Oak Leaf Cluster.
For over 34 years, he was a rural mail carrier in Crossville.
Mr. Dunbar and his wife, Barbara Johnson Dunbar, were frequent visitors to
Oak Ridge and often came here for meetings of the National Association of
Retired Federal Employees. His wife was a longtime resident of Oak Ridge.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons, Rick Dunbar and his
wife, Jeannie, of Knoxville, and Keith Dunbar and his wife, Elaine, of
Crossville; his daughter, Cecelia Dunbar Oman and her husband, Kester, of
Cedar Crest, N.M.; and his grandchildren, Amber Dunbar and Steffan Dunbar and
his wife, Amy, all of Knoxville, Rachel Dunbar of Crossville, and Sara Oman
and Rachel Oman, both of Cedar Crest.
A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Central Time on Thursday, June 20,
at Dorton United Methodist Church in Crossville with Martha Hale officiating.
A private burial service will be held at City Cemetery in Crossville.
The family requests that any memorials be in the form of donations to the
United Fund of Cumberland County, P.O. Box 467, Crossville, TN 38557; or to
the Eaton Conley Memorial Scholarship Fund, U.S. Postal Service, 240 Old
Jamestown Highway, Crossville, TN 38557.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday at the church.
Crossville Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory is handling the arrangements.
The funeral for ENGRACIA TORREFOSA "Grace" GARCIA will be held at 10:30 a.m.
Thursday, June 20, at St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Memorial Park.
Mrs. Garcia, of Oak Ridge, died Saturday, June 15, 2002, at St. Mary's
Residential Hospice in Knoxville at the age of 63.
The family requests that any memorials be in the form of donations to St.
Mary's Residential Hospice, 7447 Andersonville Pike, Knoxville, TN 37938.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at St. Mary's Church.
Martin Oak Ridge Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
