PHILLIPS, MS. JOSEPHINE (lovingly known as "Aunt Jo") - age 76, of Wartburg,
passed away Thursday, July 18, 2002, in the Methodist Medical Center of Oak
Ridge. She was an active member of Liberty Baptist Church, where she served
as a Sunday School Teacher, and G. A. and Acteen Leader for many years. She
was very devoted to her church family and community. She was preceded in
death by her parents, Sherman and Mary Phillips; sister, Dixie Phillips, and
brothers, John and Jesse Phillips; sister in law, Carrie Phillips. "Aunt Jo"
is survived by three brothers and their families, Jasper Phillips, James and
Norma Phillips and Junior and Patsy Phillips; 2 sisters in law, Mary Phillips
and Macel Phillips; several nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives. The
family will receive friends Saturday evening, July 20, 2002, from 6:00-9:00
p.m. at Schubert Funeral Home, Wartburg. Funeral services will be held on
Sunday, 2 p.m., at Liberty Baptist Church with Rev. Michael T. Justus and
Rev. David Acres officiating. The body will lie in state one hour before
services begin.
