HECK, LOIS KATHLEEN PARKER - age 79, of Speedwell, formerly of Oak Ridge,
Tennessee, passed away Tuesday, September 10, 2002, in Claiborne County
Hospital. She was born June 14, 1923, in Barbourville, Kentucky. Kathleen
graduated from Cumberland College and was a PHI Beta Kappa graduate of
Denison University. She also earned certification as a School Librarian from
The University of Tennessee, Knoxville. She was a long-term member of Delta
Kappa Gamma. She taught English and Mathematics at Jefferson Junior High
School in the Oak Ridge area and later served as the Librarian at Norwood
Junior High School in Oliver Springs, Tennessee. She was a member of
Harrogate United Methodist Church for 22 years, Phi Beta Kappa and Delta
Kappa Gamma. Preceded in death by parents, W. F. and Mary Lee Williams Parker
of Barbourville, Kentucky. Survived by husband of 53 years, James Franklin
Heck; son, Jeffrey James and wife, Grace Heck; granddaughter, Eva Burneko,
all of Augusta, Ga.; sister, Anna Rutherford of Morristown, Tenn., and a
niece, Jennifer NcNeill of Greenville, S.C. The funeral services will be 8:00
p.m. Friday at Reece Valley Chapel with Rev. Sam Johnson and Rev. Lowell
Wright officiating. Family and friends will meet at Reece Funeral Home,
Saturday, September 14, at 10:00 a.m. and proceed to The Alexander Cemetery
on The Heck Farm in Speedwell for interment. Pallbearers will be Olen Ray
Heck, Jason Thomas, Dennis Kilgore, Brian Alexander, Jim Beeler and Jack
Barnett. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested, memorials be made to
the National Kidney Foundation of East Tennessee, 4450 Walker Blvd., Suite 2,
Knoxville, TN 37917, or to the charity of your choice. Visitation will be 6-8
p.m. Friday at Reece Funeral Home (869-8811, 869-3651 or 626-4249)
