Hello:
My GGGrandmother was Mahala Adkins. My GGGRandfather was STephen Gibson.

Stephen Gibson was born Abt. 1814 in Livingston, Rock Co., KY, and died
June 25, 1880 in Albany, Clinton Co., KY. He married Mahala Adkins. She
was born Abt. 1814 in Wayne Co., KY, and died June 25, 1880 in Albany,
Clinton Co., KY.
But she would probably be listed as Mahala Gibson now that I think about
it.
Maybe one of thier girls or Granddaughters married a Carrol.
Children of Stephen Gibson and Mahala Adkins are:
i. Emaline Gibson, born 1838 in KY.
ii. Jesse Gibson, born 1841 in Virginia.
iii. Claiborne Gibson, born 1843 in Virginia.
iv. Alvin Gibson, born 1847 in Virginia.
v. Granville Gibson, born October 15, 1854 in KY; died August 30,
1904.
Maybe Mahala was her Maternal Grandmother.
