BARRON, WILLIAM N. G., JR. - age 74, of Oak Ridge, died Sunday, March 16,
2003, at the Methodist Medical Center. He was born March 13, 1929, in Eccles,
W. Va., son of the late William N. G. Barron and Jemina Brooks Barron. He
served with the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict, and is a graduate of
King College in Bristol, where he was a 4 year letter-man and captain of the
basketball team. He also earned a degree in Nuclear Engineering Physics from
the University of Tennessee. He is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter-Day Saints and a devoted son, brother, husband, father and
grandfather. Mr. Barron retired from Lockheed Martin after 40 years, where he
was a Health Physicist. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death
by a sister, Virginia Mayes. Mr. Barron is survived by wife of 51 1/2 years,
Wanda Williams Barron; sons, William N. G. Barron III and wife, Marcia of
Madison, Wis. and G. Keith Barron and wife Shell of Detroit, Mich.;
daughters, Cynthia Carmen and husbandm Steve of Seattle, Wash., Katheryne
Levine and husband, Ellis of Oak Ridge, Carol Avery and husband, Fred of
Knoxville, Sabrena Penalba and husband, Gaston of Chesapeake, Va., and
Patricia Dunn and husband, Jim of Oak Ridge; sister, JoAnne Barron Renfro of
Knoxville; sisters-in-law, Mildred Justus and husband, John of Sevierville,
and Dr. Pat Plant of Wingate, N.C.; 36 grandchildren and two
great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 19,
2003, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 140 South Jefferson
Circle, Oak Ridge at 8:00 p.m. The interment will be private. The family asks
that any memorials be in the form of contributions to the Boys Scouts of
America, Great Smoky Mountain Council, 133 Old Weisgarber Rd., Knoxville, TN
37909. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at
the church. Weatherford Mortuary, in charge of the arrangements.
BRADLEY, ROY L. - age 84, of Clinton, passed away Sunday, March 16, 2003, at
Methodist Medical Center. He was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. He was
a Veteran of the U. S. Army, serving in World War II in the 752nd Field
Artillery Battalion. He retired as a carpenter from Rust Engineering in Oak
Ridge. Preceded in death by parents, Robert Bradley and Mary Gillenwater
Bradley; brothers, Glenn and Clarence Bradley; half brother, Mark Bradley;
sister, Bessie Mitchell, and half sister, Nellie Bradley. Born June 8, 1918,
in Dungannon, Va. Survivors: wife of 64 years, Hazel Todd Bradley of Clinton;
daughter, Jaynie and husband, Scott Moore of Knoxville; son, Richard and
wife, Carolyn Bradley of Oak Ridge; grandson, Phillip Bradley; great-
grandson, Dillon Bradley; sister, Marie Kussman of St. Clair Shores, Mi.;
special niece, Jean Nighbert of Knoxville; several nieces and nephews, and a
host of friends. The family will receive friends 6:00-8:30 p.m. Wednesday,
March 19, 2003, at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home, with funeral services
following in the chapel with Rev. Clayton Duncan and Rev. George Williams
officiating. The interment will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Woodhaven Memorial
Gardens with full military honors at graveside. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home,
in Clinton, in charge of all arrangements.
BURTON, BRUCE A. - age 48, of Clinton, passed away Sunday, March 16, 2003 at
Baptist Hospital. He was a member of Edgemoor Baptist Church. He was employed
at Boeing-Oak Ridge. Preceded in death by mother, Jennette Burton. Survived
by son, Tyler Burton; daughter, Janet Burton; father, Eugene Burton; sister
and brother-in-law, Jane and Howard Gold; nephews, Ben and Phillip Gold;
mother of his children, Lori Burton. The family will receive friends from
5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Pastor, Mike Petty officiating. Family and friends
will meet at 9:45 a.m. Wednesday at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens for a 10:00
a.m. graveside service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Human
Immunology and Cancer Research Gift Fund, c/o Dr. Alan Solomon, 1924 Alcoa
Highway, Knoxville, TN 37920. Arrangements by Woodhaven Funeral Home, 160
Edgemoor Road.
LEACH, JOYCE KIDD - age 65, of LaFollette, passed away Sunday, March 16, 2003
at her home. She was a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. Preceded in
death by parents, Neil and Ruby Jewell Bell Kidd; brothers, Robert G. and
Billy Jay Kidd and a granddaughter, Allyson Shepherd. Survivors: husband, Joe
Leach; daughters and sons-in-law, Tammy L. and David Shepherd of Knoxville,
Jayna V. and William Hembree and Kelli Jo and James Wright, all of
LaFollette; grandchildren, Ashley and John Shepherd of Knoxville, Lindsey and
Hollins Hembree and Carli and Karmin Wright, all of LaFollette; brothers,
Lindell and Jack Kidd. The funeral service will be 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at
Hillcrest Baptist Church, Dr. Bill Edmonds and Rev. David Shepherd
officiating. Interment will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in Powell Valley
Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00
p.m. Tuesday at Hillcrest Baptist Church. Arrangements by Cross Funeral Home,
in LaFollette.
WILSON, LUTHER C. - age 91, of Lake City, passed away on Sunday, March 16,
2003 at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. He was born September 18, 1911
in Campbell County, Tennessee to the late William Johnson and Maggie Cooper
Wilson. He was a member of Main Street Baptist Church of Lake City, where he
served as a Deacon, Trustee, Treasurer, Song Leader, Sunday School Director,
teacher and Training Union Director. Luther was a United States Army Veteran
of World War II, where he served with The 258th Engineer Combat Battalion in
The European Theatre Operations. He was Co-Owner of Wilson's Grocery Store in
Lake City. He was a founder of The North Anderson County Utility District
which was chartered in 1959. He served as Manager until his retirement in
1979. Luther was a member of Coal Creek Masonic Lodge F&AM No. 492 in Lake
City. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Mary Hatmaker Wilson
(1976); sister, Ruby Foster; brothers, Clyde and Winfrey Wilson; stepson,
David Robertson and one step- grandson. Survivors: wife, Willie Robertson

Lake City, TN, Mary Lynn and Alex Foust of Lake City, TN and Barbara and
William H. Lee of Oak Ridge, TN; son and daughter-in-law, L.C. Wilson, Jr.

Matthew Boggs of Fayetteville, GA, Brian Foust of Conyers, GA, Leanne Coker
of Knoxville, TN, Kent and Clark Lee of Oak Ridge, TN and Jennifer and Todd
Wilson of Oak Ridge, TN; 13 great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law,
Ben H. And Ollie Wilson of Lake City, TN; several nieces, nephews and
cousins; step-sons and daughters-in-law, Everette and Doris Robertson and
Roger and Faye Robertson, all of LaFollette, TN, Donald and Connie Robertson
of Decatur, GA, Phillip Robertson of Powell, TN; seven step-grandchildren and
four step-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00
p.m. Tuesday, March 18, 2003 at the Main Street Baptist Church, 215 Fourth
Street in Lake City, TN. The funeral service will be 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, March
18, 2003 at Main Street Baptist Church with Rev. Wayne Phillips and Rev.
Brian Foust officiating. Interment will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 19,
2003 at Oak Grove Cemetery in Lake City, TN with Full Military Honors
conducted by The Campbell County Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, memorials
may be made to Main Street Baptist Church Family Life Center, P.O. Box 405,
Lake City, TN 37769. Hatmaker Funeral Home in Lake City in charge of
arrangements.
