Lacy Adkins was my grandfather on my mothers side, and Andrew and David and his brothers are my great uncles. They are the children of Sarah Shoopman and Lemuel Adkins. Sarah was the daughter of David Shoopman and Sarah Hutchison. When the census was taken she was in divorce proceedings from Lacy and living at home with her parents. She then married Richard Pemberton on 12 Jul 1865. I have a lot of particulars on this family if you need them. Ed.

Would anyone know the parents of the Adkins children listed in the household of David Shoopman in the 1860 census. I'm guessing that his daughter, Sarrah 26 would be their mother. They are Lacy Adkins 5, Andrew Adkins 3 and David Adkins 1.
