Mary Virginia Morgan King, 84, formerly of Oak Ridge,
Teresa Mae Kirkman, 67, of Oak Ridge,
Mary Virginia Morgan King, 84, formerly of Oak Ridge, died Tuesday, Aug. 10,
2004, at Meadowlands Nursing Home in Justin, Texas. Born July 12, 1920, in
Middlesboro, Ky., she was the daughter of George W. and Addie "Big Momma" Morgan.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ancil
Ellis King, on Aug. 13, 1995. Mrs. King is survived by her two sons, Gaylord
King and wife, Betsy, of Bartonville, Texas and Ray King and wife, Beverly, of
Louisville, Ky., and a sister, Myrtle Head, of Florida; six grandchildren, Bill
King and Neysa King of Bartonville, Texas, Tina White of Knoxville, Tod King
of Oak Ridge, and Jeff King and Bridgette King, both of California; five
great-grandchildren, Doug Huskey, Melissa White, Celeste King, Jessica King and
Shawn King. The funeral will be at 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 12, 2004, in the chapel
of Martin Oak Ridge Funeral Home. A graveside service will be at 10 a.m.
Friday, Aug. 13, at Oak Ridge Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6
to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. An online guest book may be signed at

Teresa Mae Kirkman, 67, of Oak Ridge, died Sunday, Aug. 8, 2004, at St.
Mary's Health System in Knoxville. Born Sept. 4, 1936, in Fresno, Calif., she was
the daughter of Otto and Dora Schafstall. Mrs. Kirkman was actively involved in
her church, the Oak Ridge Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day
Saints. According to her family, she enjoyed cooking, gardening, her family, and
spending time with her friends at the Oak Ridge Senior Center and her
apartment complex. She and her family had lived in California, Alaska and Nevada.
After retirement, she and her husband, Burrel Grant Kirkman, who died Jan. 4,
2002, traveled extensively throughout the United States. In addition to her
husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Palmer. Mrs.
Kirkman is survived by her three children, Kenneth Michael Kirkman and his
wife, Debra, of Oceanside, Calif., Michele Renee“ Kirkman of Fairbanks, Alaska,
and Sheri Ann Watkins and her husband, Charles, of Oak Ridge; and by her three
grandchildren, Christopher Earl Kirkman, Jennifer Therese Kirkman and Jared
Grant Kirkman Watkins. A memorial service was held on Monday, Aug. 9, 2004, at
the Oak Ridge Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. A
private burial was at Hester Cemetery in Harriman. The family requests that any
memorials be in the form of contributions to Boy Scout Troop 320, 917 West Outer
Drive, or the Senior Center, 728 Emory Valley Road, both Oak Ridge, TN 37830.
