MAYHEW, JUANITA DUFF
ROGERS, MR. DAVID B. - age 89, of LaFollette, TN,

MAYHEW, JUANITA DUFF - family and friends mourn the passing of Juanita Duff
Mayhew, born May 5, 1922. Juanita survived the Great Depression, World War II,
her only son being sent to Vietnam, and the passing of her beloved husband,
Noah Mayhew. Juanita is remembered as a warm and loving woman who welcomed
anyone into her home. Her talented cooking and engaging stories made any time spent
with her a cherished memory. Her children, grandchildren, friends and
extended family will deeply miss the love and compassion she unconditionally bestowed
upon them. She is preceded in death by: her parents, William and Rose Duff;
two sisters, Beulah James and Mallie Hunt; two brothers, Dan and Dale Duff. She
is survived by: one brother, Joe Duff; one son, John Mayhew; two daughters,
Reba and her husband Steve Brant, Melanie and her husband Mike Bowman; three
grandsons, Jerry Jones and wife Susan, Jason Jones, John Brant; one
granddaughter, Ashley Oaks; and one great grandson, Joey Watson; special friends, Helen
Stewart and Craig Moore; many nieces and nephews; and a specially devoted
nephew, Bill Deaton. Funeral services will be Thursday November 11, 2004 at 1:00 pm
in the Chapel of Martin Oak Ridge Funeral Home with Rev. Herbert Lee
officiating. Interment will follow at Anderson Memorial Gardens. The family will
receive friends from 6-8 Wednesday night at the funeral home. An online register

Home is in charge of arrangements.

ROGERS, MR. DAVID B. - age 89, of LaFollette, TN, born May 27, 1915 died
November 8, 2004. Excluding 4 1/2 years in the Army in World War II, which he
entered as an enlisted man and was discharged a 2nd Lt., Mr. Rogers was engaged in
the active practice of the law in Campbell County for over 60 years, having
received his law degree in 1938 from UT. He served in public office as a
delegate to the First Limited Constitutional Convention, as a Federal Civil Service
Investigator, as an Assistant District Attorney General, as a General Sessions
Judge, and, at one time or another, as City Attorney in each of the 4 towns
in Campbell County. He was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of
LaFollette, TN, where he served 8 terms as an Elder. And he has been a
director of The Peoples National Bank of LaFollette since 1953. He also served for
many years as the attorney for the LaFollette Housing Authority, and was named
the 1990 Rotary Club Citizen of the Year. He was preceded in death by: his
son, Richard Alan Rogers, who died while a graduate student at the University of
Tennessee; his parents Judge Jesse L. Rogers and wife, Fannie Alexander
Rogers; and his brother Paul Rogers, who died in infancy. He is survived by: his
wife, Ina Mae Rogers; his daughter, Suzanne Cleary and her husband, Edward J.
(Ted) Cleary; and his grandchildren, Janet Lee Hopson and husband, Phillip Hopson
of Dandridge, TN, and Jennifer Cleary of Charleston, SC.; his brothers Ben F.
Rogers and Joe E. (Buddy) Rogers; and a sister Jessie Alexander Mitchell.
Celebration of Life Services will be held at the First Presbyterian Church of
LaFollette on Wednesday, November 10th with the Rev. Malcolm M. King III
officiating. The family will receive friends at the Church from 5 to 7 p.m. preceding
the service, which will begin at 7 p.m. The burial will be a private family
service at Woodlawn Cemetery. The family requests that any memorial gifts be
given to the First Presbyterian Church of LaFollette, TN, or to the Church or
charity of your choice. Walters Funeral Home of LaFollette is honored to be
serving the family of Mr. David B. Rogers.
