CLARK, VERNON R.L., SR. - age 76 of Harriman,
ELKINS, MRS. LENNIE KATHERINE (LOOPE) - age 91 of Andersonville,
KENNEDY, RALPH B. - age 78 of Coffeeville, Miss., formerly of Knoxville
PEACE, WILLIAM CARL - age 80, of Clinton,

CLARK, VERNON R.L., SR. - age 76 of Harriman, passed away Friday April 8,
2005 at his home. He was a well known handyman and for building many birdhouses.
He had lived in Roane County all his life and was of the Baptist faith.
Preceded in death by his parents, Chill and Minnie Clark; brothers, William, Albert,
John and James Clark and one sister, Lora Roberts. Survived by two sons and
daughters in law, Vernon, Jr. and Rhonda Clark, Melvin (Dutch) and Connie Clark
of Harriman; daughter and son in law, Leona and Lynn Gault of Knoxville;
grandchildren, Tammy and Charlie Devine of Kingston, Robert and Crystal Clark of
Oakdale and Teresa Murphy of Harriman, Greta and Kelly Gault of Knoxville;
eight great grandchildren, Blake and Mason Devine of Kingston, Faith Clark of
Oakdale; Megan, Maria, Mercedes and Marilyn and Molly Murphy of Harriman; one
sister, Dollie Rayburn of Harriman and many nieces and nephews. Family will
receive friends Saturday April 9, 2005 from 6-8 p.m. in the chapel of Brown Funeral
Home, Kingston with funeral service to follow at 8 p.m. with Brother Ben
Whittenbarger officiating. Interment will be at 2 p.m. Sunday April 10, 2005 in
Poplar Springs Cemetery. Brown Funeral Home, Kingston is honored to serve the
family of R.L. Clark.

ELKINS, MRS. LENNIE KATHERINE (LOOPE) - age 91 of Andersonville, passed away
at 8:05 p.m. Thursday, April 7, 2005 at Baptist Hospital after a lengthy
illness. She was a member of Valley Grove Baptist Church and was preceded in death
by parents, Ballard and Vesta Jane Loope and 10 siblings. Survived by husband,
Weyman Elkins; daughter, Sharon Elkins; granddaughter and husband, Andrea a
and Daniel Meyers; and great grandson, Samuel Meyers all of Andersonville;
brothers and sisters in law, Jesse and Myrtle Elkins of Andersonville, and Frank
and Clara Elkins of Halls; sister in law, Hazel Pickle of Queens, New York;
special family member, Lenny Holt; several nieces and nephews. The family will
receive friends 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Valley Grove Baptist Church with funeral
services to follow at 8 p.m. Rev. Jimmy Davidson, and Rev. Burney Hutchison
officiating. Interment 11 a.m. Monday at New Loyston Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers:
Daniel Meyers, Leonard Holt, Marvin Elkins, Conley Haynes, Max George, Edward

KENNEDY, RALPH B. - age 78 of Coffeeville, Miss., formerly of Knoxville and
Memphis, died Friday at his home. He retired as traffic coordinator for
Schering Plough after 42 years of service. He was a World War II Navy veteran, a
Shriner, and a member and Past Master of Normal Masonic Lodge 722. He attended
Coffeeville First Baptist Church. Mr. Kennedy, the widower of Nelwyn Kennedy,
leaves a daughter, Patricia Kennedy Moore of Water Valley, Miss.; a son, Joseph
Kennedy of Coffeeville, Miss.; a sister, Jean Tannachion of Lake City, Fla.;
two brothers, Kyle Kennedy and Charles Kennedy, both of Knoxville; six
grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. The family requests that any memorials be
sent to the American Heart Association. Services for Mr. Kennedy were held
Wednesday, April 6, 2005, at Forest Hill Funeral Home East followed by burial in
Memorial Park in Mississippi. Mr. Kennedy's guest book is also available at

PEACE, WILLIAM CARL - age 80, of Clinton, passed away Thursday, April 7, 2005
at Methodist Medical Center. He was a member of Clinton Second Baptist
Church. William is preceded in death by his parents, Newt and Anna Bell Wright
Peace; son, Carl Vaughn Peace; 4 brothers and 3 sisters. Survivors: wife of 61
years, Ruby Peace of Clinton; daughters, Joyce Hood & husband Jr. of Clinton,
Glenda McCollum & husband Greg of Oliver Springs; grandchildren, Bryan Hood & wife
Brenda of Clinton, Tracy Weaver of Clinton, Sherry Lankford & husband Gerald
of Clinton; great grandchildren, Zachary, Dakota and Indeah Hood, Chase and
Hunter Lankford; sister, Ruby Luckinbill of Bells, TN; several nieces and
nephews. The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 PM, Saturday, April 9, 2005 at
Holley-Gamble Funeral Home with funeral services following in the chapel with
Rev. Mike Thompson and Frank Carey officiating. His burial will be 2:00 PM,
Sunday at Sunset Cemetery. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton is in charge of
all arrangements.
