The Rev. Donald "Don" Ray Hensley, 60, of Knoxville,
Ollie L. "Polly" Kelly, 76, of Oak Ridge,
Richard "Rick" A. Sheck, 57, of Oak Ridge,
Winifred Newman Carmichael, 85, of Clinton,
The Rev. Donald "Don" Ray Hensley, 60, of Knoxville, was called to meet his
Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, April 25, 2005, at his residence,
after a long and hard fought battle with cancer. He was the pastor of Riverview
Baptist Church in Claxton for 23 wonderful years. He retired from United Parcel
Service after 26 years of service. He was the past master of Beaver River
Lodge. According to his family, Don was a hobby farmer - he enjoyed working with
his cattle and gardening. He loved his Lord, his church, and his family,
especially his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother, Onilee
Munsey, and a brother, V.L. Hensley. Mr. Hensley is survived by his wife of 42
years, Charlotte Hensley of Knoxville; his father, whom he affectionately called
"Pop," Virgle Hensley of Knoxville; three sons, Tim Hensley and wife, Tonya, of
Crossville, Michael Hensley and wife, Cindy, of Spring City, and Carl Hensley
of Knoxville; a daughter, Tracy Collins, and husband, Michael, of Mauldin,
S.C.; a former daughter-in-law, Emily Hays and husband, Doug, of Knoxville; and
10 grandchildren, Katie Hensley and Kelli Hensley, both of Knoxville, Justin
Hensley of Crossville, Kimberly Hensley, Stephanie Hensley and Brett Hensley,
all of Spring City, Derrick Hensley of Knoxville, Joshua Collins, Jessica
Collins and Jacob Collins, all of Mauldin, S.C. He is also survived by two
brothers, Doyle Hensley and wife, Edith, of Decatur, Ala., and Gene Hensley of
Knoxville; two sisters, Diane Whitted and husband, Jack, of Seymour, and Brenda
Calloway of Cross Plains; and by several nieces, nephews, and many other dear
friends and family. The family would like to thank everyone for their love,
prayers, and all your support for Don and our family. We invite you to celebrate with
us Don's going home party. The funeral will be at 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 27,
2005, at Riverview Baptist Church in Claxton with the Rev. James Langston and
the Rev. Dewey Cooper officiating. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, April
28, at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens in Claxton with Brother Justin Pratt
officiating. The deacons at Riverview Baptist Church will serve as pallbearers. Family
and friends may call at their convenience from 3 to 5 p.m. Wednesday at the
church, and the family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. The family has
requested that any memorials be in the form of donations to Riverview Baptist
Church, 410 Blacksferry Road, Clinton, TN 37716; ALSAC - St. Jude Children's
Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105; or Thompson Cancer
Survival Center, 1915 White Ave., Knoxville, TN 37916. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home
in Clinton in charge of arrangements.
Ollie L. "Polly" Kelly, 76, of Oak Ridge, died Sunday, April 24, 2005, at her
home, losing her battle with liver cancer. The daughter of Oliver and Lilly
Letsinger, she was born Aug. 20, 1928, in Knox County. Mrs. Kelly was a member
of Byrds Chapel Methodist Church in Knoxville. She enjoyed flowers, going to
flea markets, auctions and yard sales. Mrs. Kelly was a longtime collector of
miniature glass and porcelain shoes. She was preceded in death by her parents.
She was the loving and faithful wife of Gilbert Kelly, her husband of 51
years. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Kelly is survived by her son, Allen Kelly
of Oak Ridge and Allen's special friend, Lynne Smith, also of Oak Ridge, who
cared for her and was by her side when she died; two granddaughters, Mandi
Currier and Leah Kelly; and two great-grandsons, Dylan Currier and Michael Currier,
all of Oak Ridge. She is also survived by two sisters, Jean Dehart and
husband, Dillard, and Joyce Moneymaker, all of Knoxville; sister-in-law, Ludie
Turpin and husband, J. Hugh Turpin, of Oak Ridge; brother-in-law, Jack Kelly and
wife, Betty, of Clinton; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; her only
aunt, Mattie Neeley, of Knoxville, whom she considered special; and her dear
friend, Willie Arnold of Claxton, whom she considered a sister. She will be
missed by her many friends and all those who knew her. The funeral will be at 8
p.m. Tuesday, April 26, 2005, in the chapel of Weatherford Mortuary with the
Rev. Michael Ryan officiating. The graveside service and burial will be at 2
p.m. Wednesday, April 27, at Byrds Chapel Methodist Church Cemetery in
Knoxville. The family asks that any memorials be in the form of contributions to Byrds
Chapel Cemetery Association, 11270 Yarnell Road, Knoxville, TN 37932. The
family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the mortuary. An on-line

Richard "Rick" A. Sheck, 57, of Oak Ridge, died Friday April 22, 2005, at his
home. Born Sept. 4, 1947, in Waltham, Mass., he was the son of Edwin and
Ester Powers Sheck. He was a Catholic and enjoyed golf and all other sports. He
was preceded in death by his parents. Mr. Sheck is survived by his wife, Susan,
of Oak Ridge; three sons, Lloyd Sheck of Waltham, and Billy Gibson and George
Gibson, both of Oak Ridge; three daughters, Patricia Benoit and husband,
Eugene, and Lori Bourque and husband, Bryan, all of Waltham, and Jamie Gibson of
Oak Ridge; three brothers, Edward Sheck, Donnie Sheck and Wayne Sheck, all of
Waltham; and by eight grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A graveside
services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 27, 2005, at Oak Ridge
Memorial Park. Online message for the family may be left at

Winifred Newman Carmichael, 85, of Clinton, died Monday, April 25, 2005, at
St. Mary's Residential Hospice in Knoxville. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in
Clinton is in charge of arrangements, which were incomplete at press time.
