ALLEN, ODIS - age 95, of LaFollette passed away Thursday, October 27, 2005,
at St. Mary's Medical Center of Campbell Co. Preceded in death by: wife: Odessa
Mae Brown Allen. Survivors: son & caregiver: Jerry Allen, LaFollette;
daughter: Ortygia Mae Carnette, Fredericksburg, VA; grandchildren: Sharon Odessa
Carnette, Stafford, VA, Michael Eugene Carnette, Chicago, Illinois; host of loving
nieces & nephews. Services 3 PM Sunday Cross Chapel with Rev. Larry Brinson
officiating. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends 2 until 3
PM Sunday Cross Funeral Home.

BURRESS, BOYD - age 79, of Knoxville, passed away Thursday, October 27, 2005
at St. Mary's Residential Hospice. Boyd was a member and care taker at
Ridgeview Baptist Church. He was a retired machinist at Y-12 after 30 years of
service. He is preceded in death by wife, Bonnie Burress; parents, Homer and Nannie
Grubb Burress; brother, John Burress. Survivors: sons, Tom Burress & wife Tina
of Louisville, KY, Tim Burress & wife Gail of Lenoir City; grandchildren,
Jessica and Matthew Burress of Louisville, KY, Ryan and Leslie Burress of
Knoxville, Jeremy and Amanda Silvey of Lenoir City; sister, Lucille Kesterson of
Raleigh, NC; special caregiver, Kim Jones of Oliver Springs; several nieces,
nephews, and special friends at Ridgeview Baptist Church. The family will receive
friends 6:00-8:00 PM, Sunday, October 30, 2005 at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home
with funeral services following in the chapel with Rev. Maston Jackson and Rev.
David Magill officiating. His burial will be 11:00 AM, Monday, October 31,
2005 at Woodhaven Memorial Garden. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton is in
charge of all arrangements.

GROOVER, JOHN M., JR. - age 83, of the Karns Community, passed away October
25, 2005 after a short illness. He was the son of Mildred and John Groover.
John was employed at Oak Ridge National Laboratory as an electronics technician
and retired in 1980. John is survived by daughter, Sherry and husband, Paul
Beggs; granddaughter, heather and husband, William Abraham; great grandson, Aidan
Abraham, all of Douglas, Ga.; grandson, Chris Beggs and wife Emily; great
granddaughter, Megan Harn of Grand Rapids, Mich.; brothers, James Henry Groover
and wife, Charlcie of Kingston, Tenn., Charles Groover and wife, Phyllis of
Clinton, Tenn. He also had many nieces, nephews, cousins and a wonderful
caregiver and loving friend, Dorothy Boshers. John had been a member of the Karns
Lions Club and the Volunteer Fire Department. He loved square dancing, playing
bridge, working around his home, being with family and friends as well as
attending church and Sunday school. Visitation will be at 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. with the
memorial service following from 2-3 p.m. on Saturday, October 29, 2005, at
Highland Memorial West Funeral Home with Rev. Walter Weikel of Karns Beaver Ridge
Methodist Church officiating. Family and friends will gather for a burial
service at 4 p.m. following the funeral service at Oak Ridge Memorial Park. The
family extends a special appreciation to the employees of the Karns Ingles store
for their love and generosity to John in his last years. In lieu of flowers,
memorials may be made to the charity of choice. Highland West Memorial Park,
Funerals and Cremations, 9913 Sherrill Lane, is honored to be serving the
Groover family. 693-9547.

TATUM, REV. BILL - age 69 of Oak Ridge passed away Thursday, October 27, 2005
at Baptist West. He attended Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Clinton. Preceded in
death by parents Ernest and Martha Tubyville and a grand-daughter. He is
survived by wife Amanda Tatum of Oak Ridge TN; and ex- wife Betty O'Dell of
Powell; son Roger Reagan and wife Kim of Knoxville; daughters Judy Webster and
husband Steve of Lenoir City, Carol Smith and husband Lee of Orlando Fl, Ginger
Lance of Knoxville, Becky Shirey and husband Greg of Lenoir City, Mitzi Shirey of
Lenoir City, Pam Toon and husband Butch of Kingston, Terry Tidwell and
husband Lester of Powell, Tammy Lee and husband Randy of Knoxville, Sandy Stallings
and husband Ronnie of Knoxville, and Kay Smith and husband Carl of Clinton;
also 20 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and several nieces and
nephews. The family will receive friends Monday October 31, 2005 from 6 pm to 8 pm
with a chapel service to follow at 8 pm. Rev Junior Ward and Rev. Robbie Cox
officiating. Interment will be Tuesday November 1, 2005 at 2 pm in the Asbury
Cemetery. McCarty Mortuary 4004 Holston Drive Knoxville, TN are in charge of
arrangements.
