BROWN, GENEVA - age 71 of Clinton, passed away Saturday, December 24, 2005 at
her residence. She was a member of Beaver Creek Cumberland Presbyterian
Church. She is preceded in death by: husband, Fred Brown; parents, Thomas and
Gladys Staples; brother, George Staples; special aunt, Myrl Burns. Survivors:
daughters, Jeanie & husband Bill Moore of Knoxville, Doris & husband Klay Kerns of
Colorado Springs, CO, Helen Brown of Clinton. The family will receive friends
6:00-8:00 pm, Tuesday, December 27, 2005 at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home with
funeral services following in the chapel with Rev. Fred West officiating. Her
burial will be 3:30 pm, Wednesday at Sunset Cemetery. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home
in Clinton is in charge of all arrangements.
DAVIS, GERALDINE WILSON "GERRY" - age 89 of Clinton, passed away Saturday,
December 24, 2005 at Hillcrest West Health Care Center. She was a member of
Clinton Second Baptist Church. She retired from Union Carbide as an auditor with
over 25 years experience. Geraldine is preceded in death by: parents, Charles
and Elizabeth Wilson; three brothers, Elmer R., Harold E., and Kenneth E.
Wilson. Survivors: brothers, Glenn A. Wilson & wife Margaret of Camilla, GA, Lester
"Gene" Wilson & wife Faye of Middleburg, FL; two special nephews, Michael L.
"Butch" Wilson & wife Leigh of Muskegon, MI, Allyn R. Wilson & Belia of
Clinton; special niece, Vicki Shoopman of Knoxville; beloved friend, Wanda B. Wilson
of Knoxville; several other nieces and nephews. The family will receive
friends 6:00-8:00 pm, Tuesday, December 27, 2005 at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home. Her
graveside service will be 11:00 am, Wednesday at Woodhaven Memorial Garden.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested memorials be made to Second Baptist
Church Food Pantry, 901 Fowler Street, Clinton, TN 37716. Holley-Gamble
Funeral Home in Clinton is in charge of all arrangements.
KENNEDY, HARLIN - 68 of Lake City, TN, passed away December 23, 2005, at
Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. He was born January 31, 1937 to the late
Richard and Bessie Daugherty Kennedy. Harlin is preceded in death by: his
parents; brothers, Matt, Hoye, Steve & Lorenza Kennedy, sister, Martha Seiber.
Harlin was retired from General Motors. Survivors: daughter, Justine Kennedy;
sisters, Jane Phillips, Caryville, TN; Ailene Lane, Fl., Belle Warwick, Caryville,
TN, Ada Armes, Caryville, TN; brothers, Jim Kennedy, Rockwood, TN, Luther
Kennedy, Oliver Springs, TN, Goldman Kennedy, Lake City, TN, Avery Kennedy, MI.
Graveside service 2:00 pm Tuesday December 27, 2005 at the Byrge Cemetery in New
River, TN with Pastor Justin Phillips officiating. Hatmaker Funeral Home of
Lake City in charge of arrangements.
RANDLES, JAMES F. - age 57 of Kingston, passed away Saturday, December 24,
2005 at the Methodist Medical Center. He was a member of Pine Ridge Baptist
Church, and a veteran of the US Air Force. He was employed at the Y-12 Plant for
27 years in security, and was also employed at the Turkey Creek Wal-Mart.
Preceded in death by: his parents, James T. and Ruth Randles; brother, Sidney
Randles; father- in-law and mother-in-law, Arthur and Faye Brackett. Survivors:
wife, Debbie Randles; daughter, Ashley Nicole Randles; sisters, Geneva Parker and
husband Jean Paul all of Kingston; Dianne Wolfe and husband Gary of Oliver
Springs; Karen Kellar and husband Keith of Powell; brother-in-law, Jerry
Brackett and wife Cleta of Kingston; sisters-in-law, Gina McCarty and husband Ron of
Kingsport; Dottie Randles of Chattanooga; nieces and nephews, Sherry
Schreeder; Michael Randles; Lisa Hawk and husband Todd; Chris Parker and wife Tamara;

STEPHENS, HAZEL MARIE LAY - beloved wife and mother, departed this life on
December 25, 2005. Born October 2, 1939 in Anderson County. She was a member of
Willowbrook Baptist Church in Lake City, TN. Preceded in death by: parents
James P. and Mossie Harmon Lay; sisters, Helen Cornett and June Slaughter;
brothers, Charles M. Lay, William P. Lay, and Robert V. Lay. Survived by: loving
husband of 41 years, James F. Stephens of Lake City; daughter and son-in-law,
Debbie Stephens Hudak and husband Chris of Clinton; one grandson whom she
cherished, Christopher Blake Hudak; brother, John Lay and wife Marcy of Jacksboro;
special niece, Linda Bass and husband Tom of Kokomo, Indiana; sisters-in-law,
Thelma Berryhill and husband Lewis of Clinton, Dorothy Arnold of Maryville, and
Carolyn Strizak of Clinton; brothers-in-law, Charles Stephens and wife Betty
of Lake City, Kenneth Stephens and wife Kay of Knoxville, and Thomas L.

THOMPSON, BLANCHE PARKER - 88 of Oak Ridge, died Monday, December 26, 2005 at
Windwood Health and Rehab Center in Clinton. Ms. Thompson was born December
27, 1916 in Loudon County to Amos and Mattie Parker. She was retired from Union
Carbide Corporation where she was a secretary. Along with her parents, Ms.
Thompson was preceded in death by her son, James Hubert Thompson in 2002.
Survivors include: a brother, James Christy Parker of Oak Ridge; sister, Faye Parker
Yelton of Greenback, Tennessee; two granddaughters, Tresa Batson and her
husband, Mark of Powell, Kara Allison and her husband, David of Memphis; three
great-granddaughters, Emma Batson and Jamie Batson, both of Powell and Claire
Allison of Memphis; and several nieces and nephews. There will be a memorial
service held at Weatherford Mortuary at a later date. In lieu of flowers,
memorials may be made to the Oak Ridge Humane Society, Inc., 1345 Oak Ridge Turnpike,

THOMPSON, REBA SEXTON - age 81 of Powell, formerly of Oneida, Tennessee,
passed away Monday, December 26, 2005 at the St. Mary's Residential Hospice in
Knoxville. Born in Scott County, Tennessee April 1, 1924, she was the daughter of
the late Frank and Zettie Yancey Sexton. She was a member of Paint Rock
Baptist Church and attended Temple Baptist Church in Powell. In addition to her
parents, she was preceded in death by: a sister, Bernice Sexton; brothers,
Burnell Sexton and James F. Sexton; and three infant sisters. Reba is survived by:
her husband of 65 years, Jamon M. Thompson of Powell; an adopted son in Kansas
City; two sisters, Joyce Chitwood and husband Eugene of Powell, and Rema
Watters and husband Ken of Dorby, Kansas. Funeral services will be conducted
Wednesday, December 28 at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Jones & Son Funeral Home. Burial
will follow in the Sexton Memorial Cemetery in Oneida. The family will receive
friends Tuesday evening from 6 until 9 p.m. at Jones & Son Funeral Home. Jones

WARD, BEECHER K. - age 79 of North Knoxville, went to be with the Lord on
Saturday, Dec. 24, 2005 at home. He is preceded in death by: wife, Mary L. Ward;
sons, Kenny and Hobert "Scooch" Ward; parents, Hobert Terl and Mary Lou Ward;
step-mother, Rhoda Ward; brother, Jim Ward; sisters, Dorothy Breeden and Mabel
Breeden. He is survived by: sons, Carl Ray Ward, Dallas and wife Snooky Ward;
grandchildren, Mary Ann, Kenny, Rhonda, Rena, Carla, Devina; great
grandchildren, Christopher, Briana, Joe, Rachel, Jerica, Morgan, Christopher, Courtney,
Alyssa, Kayla, Cody, Alexis, and Jimmy; brother, Bill Ward; sister, Bertha
Clabough; and several nieces and nephews; special friend Billy Collins. Funeral
service will be Tuesday, 8 p.m., Dec. 27 in the Berry Chapel with Rev. Jack
Chapman officiating. Family and friends will meet at Mt. Olive Cemetery for
interment service 11 a.m. Wednesday. Family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m.
Tuesday in the chapel of Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Hwy.
