We have the Van Buren County Court Minutes from 1840 to a point during the War Between the States available in pdf format on cd. The cost of the cd is $30, with all profits going to the care and maintenance of Big Fork Cemetery -which is in the Cummingsville Community of Van Buren County.

These minutes are very interesting reading. The Van Buren County Court has handled a lot of situations. Lots of names are mentioned. The accounts of the big meetings in Spencer to establish the Home Guard at the beginning of the 1860's War suggest that those were some emotional times, and that it must have been "standing room only" in the old courthouse yard. And yes, it is an eye-opener to read the names of the people who were collecting bounty for wildcat scalps.

If you would like to have your very own password-protected cd of the early Van Buren County Court minutes, send me a $30 check along with your address, and we will send you the cd.

We also have available on cd -for $30- the White County Tax Lists from 1811 to 1876. Profits from sale of this cd also go to the care and maintenance of Big Fork Cemetery.
