-Hello,

I am inquiring about John Ashley Sr who was born about 1755 somewhere in
North Carolina (I think). He served in the Revolutionary War as Sergeant
Major under Colonel Abraham Shepherd, NC, Continental Line.
His will was found in Warren County, Tennessee where he died in 1828.
Would anyone on this list have any knowledge of this man and/or his family.
His wife's name was Mary (Polly). We are unsure what her maiden name was
but it may have been Hardin. His children were Francis (Frank), Margaret
Peggy who married a Mr Colvile., Rachel Ruth m Alexander Evans, Mary (Polly)
who married John Ingram, Charles A who married Mary Arman, Nancy who married
Richard Allison, John Jr who married Elizabeth Montgomery, Mariah who
married William Lynn, Daniel who married Phebe Hail, Uriah who married
Patsey Neville, Andrew who married Polly Chronick, Sally who married Linsay
Abrell.

Would love to find his burial site. Also trying to locate who his parents
were. I seem to have hit a brick wall regarding this.

If anyone has any information, no matter how small, please contact me. I
would be so grateful.

Glenda

>>Some Ashley families also lived in Coffee County, Tenn. I was wondering
if they may have had a connection to my John Ashley line. I understand that
John's son, Daniel, was also in Coffee County at one point.

Thanks
