Southern Standard McMinnville, Tenn.) March 26, 2000
McMinnville resident and Van Buren County native AudreyYates Measles, 79,
died unexpectedly March 23 at her home. A homemaker and employee of Spinlon
in Sparta, she was a member of Doyle First Baptist Church.The daughter of
John Taylor and Melba Novella Johnson Yates, she was preceded in death by
brothers, Murphy Leaton and Rayburn Yates; and sister, Vernie Lorine
Yates.She is survived by a son, Jimmy Ralph Measles of Sparta; daughter,
Florence Measles Powell of Hopkinsville, Ky.; 6 grandchildren, Barney Davis
Jr., Lois Pryor, Clifford Davis, Tina Sims, Rebecca Kress and Clifford
Measles; 14 greatgrandchildren, Joshua Pryor, Melody, Brady, Casey, Cliff,
Ethan and Max Davis, Sarah and Ashley Pryor, Mindy Womack, Chelsa and
Taylor Sims, Sabrina Kress and Emily Davis; 5 brothers, Ernest Yates of
Osark, Mo., James Yates of Rock Island, Robert Yates of Sun City, Ariz.,
Clarence Yates of Birmingham, Ala., and Carl Yates of Washington; two
sisters, Melba Bouldin and Catherine Barnes, both of McMinnville. Services
were held Saturday at High’s Chapel with Jerry Barnwell and Ron Noffisinger
officiating. Burial followed at Laurel Creek Cemetery. High Funeral Home
was in charge of arrangements.

Florence Myers Dies At Home On Wednesday
Funeral services for Mrs. Florence Myers, resident of the Second district,
were held Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Chapel of High funeral Home here. Rev.
C.B. Smith, pastor of First Methodist Church, officiated. Burial was in the
Union cemetery. Ill for the past nine weeks, Mrs. Myers died at her home on
Route 1, Rock Island, at 1:05 a.m. Wednesday. She was 85 years of
age. Born in Van Buren county on October 5, 1870, Mrs. Myers was a
daughter of the late S. H. and Alzira Haston Myers. She was a member of the
Methodist church. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. A.H. Hash, Rock Island; a
son J.W. Myers, New Orleans, La., one brother, D.P. Myers, Rock Island, and
one sister Hortense Green, Upton, Kentucky.

Campbell, Elliott Andrew
Southern Standard McMinnville,TN Dec. 5, 1947
Elleta Ander Campbell, 79-year-old resident of the county, died suddenly at
the home of a daughter in the sixth district of Coffee county Tuesday
evening at 10 o’clock. Funeral services will be conducted today (Friday)
at 11 o’clock in the morning at the Mt. Zion Methodist Church with John W.
High officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Mr. Campbell was
born in Grundy county, May 16, 1868 and was a son of Bydid Campbell and
Martha Myers Campbell. His wife Mrs. Laura Campbell preceded him in death
several years ago. Survivors include eight children, two of whom, Roy
Campbell and Mrs. Charlie Cagle, reside in McMinnville. Also a sister, Mrs.
John Fults, who resides at Morrison. Arrangements were by High Funeral Home.

Fults, Mrs. Crete
Southern Standard McMinnville,TN Mar . 5, 1951
Chestnut Grove community— A large crowd of sorrowing relatives and friends
attended the funeral of Mrs. Crete Fults Sunday afternoon. Mrs. Fults
passed away March 2, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Hettie Shrum of
Tracy City. She was a former resident here and the mother of Black Fults of
this place and is survived by four sons, Tom, John, Ede and Black Fults;
four daughters, Mrs. B. A. Weesner, Mrs. Ivy Scott, Mrs. Hettie Shrum and
Mrs. Lida Mae Northcutt, also several grandchildren. We extend to the
bereaved family our deepest sympathy.
