Yo Ruby,

I know of two hotels within walking distance of TSLA, Nashville (about five blocks
away). I have stayed at both.

Hermitage Hotel
Renaissance Nashville Hotel

The old Hermitage Hotel is rated most popular (#1), many Tennesseans have stayed there
on their honeymoons. There is "history" between those old walls. My stay there was
flawed by a lost reservation, workers removing the gargoyles with sledge hammers at 8:00
am, and a lost breakfast order (an hour wait). Oy vay. Hotel is pricey but the gargoyles
should be way gone by now. <g>

Renaissance Nashville Hotel is rated #4 in popularity. It adjoins the Nashville
Convention Center. This hotel is *modern and clean.* Rates are generally less than
Hermitage. If there is a big convention there, the hotel could fill up.

Folk who fly in from the west coast would probably get to Nashville in the afternoon or
later. Hotel, car rental agencies, etc., do not do well with late arrivals. Advice for
tourists: Confirm reservations, get and keep the conformation number, call in if you
plan to be late.

Most downtown hotels have some sort of pay parking if needed.

Some of my friends who visit TSLA bring a bag lunch so they will not need to walk to a
restaurant at noon. BTW, the TSLA staff are the very best! Unfortunately, because of
book and microfilm theft, they are required to check bags.

Two worthy Nashville tourist attractions in case you have the extra time.

Cheekwood Botanical Garden and Museum of Art. This a sleeper, most tourists don't know
about it.
