I am looking for information about Clayton THARP. He was appointed
guardian for John WHEELER, Dec. 1857 as noted below. John W. WHEELER is
my g-grandfather. He was the oldest son of Thomas M. WHEELER and Louisa
TYCER. He was born 17 Oct., 1849, in Goforth Hollow, near Clayton,
Wayne Co., TN. It is assumed that Thomas M. WHEELER died sometime in
1857 necessitating the appointment of a guardian for his oldest minor
son.

Administrations, 1848-1920" WHEELER, John--Clayton Tharp, guardian of,
Dec. 1857, p. 265. County Court Minute Book, 1854-1861. (Suspect
Thomas M. Wheeler died sometime in 1857 necessitating this
guardianship.)

I have reason to believe that my WHEELER'S had family in nearby Hardin
Co., TN during that time (NESBITT, TYCER). Perhaps Clayton THARP was
also a relative. Any help would be appreciated.
