which will be of interest to Joe and perhaps to some others on the list.

> Friday and Saturday of last week were red-letter days for the Confederate
soldiers of Weakley county, two entertainments being given for them - one at
the home of Mr. John Terrell, southwest of Dresden, and one by the U. D.

> McDearmon, March 22, 1834.
> The day was spent in recalling the scenes of other days, many a battle was
fought over and hundreds of Yankees killed by these old, tottering, feeble
veterans, and at dinner time all were seated around, the festive board,
divine blessings being invoked by Rev. C. C. McDearmon. Besides the old
soldiers, many friends and neighbors were present. Photographer Galbreath
came out from Sharon and made a picture of the groups. It was an enjoyable
day, profitably and pleasantly spent.
> On Saturday, the Martin Chapter U. D. C. gave the old soldiers a big
dinner in the park, the following being present to enjoy the generous
hospitality of these noble women. D. J. Bowden, N. J. Garrett, C. H. Owen,
