Notes for Richard Owen:

Richard Owen had about 400 acres on the brance of Reedy Creek (also Black
Walnut Creek and Hunting Creek) in Lunenburg, Halifax County, VA adjoining
John Owen. In the late 1600's or early 1700's the Owen and Wormack families
traveled possibly from New Kent or Charles City to the part of Henrico
County, VA which became Goochland County. They settled near Manakin Town on
the south side of the James River near Bolling's Mill where numerous other
Huguenots were settled.



Richard's will lists a granddaughter, Mary, daughter of his son Richard Jr.
and hhis wife Lucy. Mary was given a legacy if she stayed with her
grandmother, Elizabeth, while she lived. Witnesses to this will were David
Green, William W. Chandler, and William Chandler Jr.
