On the 8th of this month was Grandma CROCKETT's birthday. She was 101 years
old. Quite a number of her relatives and friends gathered at her home, L. F.
STALCUP's, and spent the day with her. She is real feeble now, not able to
be up all day at a time.

Grandma CROCKETT, the oldest person in Weakley County, died Sunday nightat
the home of her daughter, Mrs. L. F. STALUCUP, south of Martin, following a
short illness. Grandma CROCKETT, for that is what everyone called this aged
lady, celebrated her 101st birth anniversary on December 8, when relatives
and friends gathered to extend congratulations. She was the best known woman
in that section of the county. She had been a member of the Missionary
Baptist Church about 80 years and a widow for 60 years.
She is survived by five children and many grand and great-grand children.
The remians were interred Wednesday at Public Wells, with services by Revs.
Webb JACKSON and Lum HALL.
