The information below describes a great-grandfather;

father: Townsend, Meekin (1809 - ?)
mother: Pearson, Rachel I.
Townsend, Robert E. (1827 - 1901)
born: 1827 in Marlboro Co, SC
served: 21st Regiment, Company F, South Carolina Volunteers
participant: Cold Harbor, Petersburg Siege, Carolinas Campaign (1865), Bentonville
rank: Captain, CSA
married:
spouse: Huckabee, Victoria Queen
child: Townsend, Henry (1874 - ?)
child: Townsend, William (1876 - ?)
child: Townsend, Gordon (1878 - ?)
child: Townsend, Meekins (1879 - ?)
child: Townsend, Rose
child: Townsend, Edward Thomas (1885 - 1957 )
died: 1901
buried: Lester Cemetery, Marlboro, SC

There is mystery here, because external sources I've found list only the four older sons, while my father's oral history included only Rose and Edward Thomas. Family memorabilia of the Civil War and his mother's name both indicate that the father is the same Robert Townsend. Does anyone have additional information about Robert Townsend, his wife or his family?

Thanks.
Chuck
