From what I have learned:
There were originally, three older Townzen men in Stewart co TN. One,
Thomas, moved to Humphries co by 1830. Humphries co at that time was on the
southern border of Stewart co. Thomas stayed there until he died in 1851.
Another of the original Older Townzen men in Stewart co, was Daniel, who died
in 1822. The third of the original older Townzen men in Stewart co, was John
SR, who sold his land in Stewart co TN in 1838, and was in Saline co AR by
the 1840 census. Two of his sons, James L, and John JR were in Henry co TN
until after 1831, then back in Stewart co until sometime after 1836, then are
in Union co AR by the 1840 census. John SR's other son Henry C. Townzen, remained in Stewart co TN until he died in 1883.
John JR who was in Bedford co TN from 1816 thru 1819, then in Stewart co,
then Henry co, and then Union co AR, is the father of my Sarah Towsend Andrews,
John SR was her grandfather.
Townsends first showed up in Stewart co, in court records
of 1816, then in the 1820 census. But at the same time that part of them
were in Stewart co in 1816, John SR, and John JR, were in Bedford co TN,
according to land records from 1816 thru 1819 when they both sold all their
land in Bedford, and showed up on the 1820 census of Stewart co with the
others. I have also seen some in Overton Co. TN
My branch was in Union Co., AR where Sarah married Henry Andrews in 1850.
Does this hook up with anyone? There may be errors so if you can correct them, please let me know. I really want to know if this is my line but I have not found proof for Sarah being the daughter of this John Townsend.

LQQKING for.... John Townsend born Jan 27 1871.
He married Mary "Lizzie" Freshcorn on May 25,1892 in
Beaver County Pennsylvania.
Their children were Charles Melvin & Alva Pearl
On the marriage license for John & Lizzie is has
William listed for John's fathers name.
I know they were living in Rochester Pa on Madison
Street in 1898 , when they had Alva Pearl Townsend.
I haven't been able to find anything else on John.
Also on Lizzie's death certificate is has her as being
divorced from John.
