Matt and Tom,

I am still carefully going through my papers and comparing old notes with
more recent notes re RW papers for my John Townsen(d). From what I have found,
it appears there are several missing segments of correspondence re his
application for a RW pension. Given the fact that another John Townsend's papers have
been mixed with those of my John Townsen, I have written National Archives
requesting all jacket pocket copies of info relating to the OTHER John
Townsend's file be forwarded to me. But based on past experience, I doubt I will
receive anything other than what I have already received 3 times over the past 30
yrs, as an Archives clerk at some point apparently misfiled John
Townsend's/John Townsen's papers in a third John Townsen(d)s file, and only by an act of God
am I ever going to get them all sorted out, since my John's wife didn't apply
for a widow's pension. I could cry.
