I am related to the Townsends through Nancy Walker daughter of William
Walker and Nancy Townsend. Nancy Walker married Stephen Garrett in 1834 in
Tennessee. He is my road block. I have a digital copy of the will of
Nathaniel Townsend, Porter to the Earl of Pembroke at Wilton House. Proved
18 June 1808. My Great Grandfather Jeremiah Garrett, son of Stephen Garrett
traveled to England in 1900 after Nathaniel died to collect an inheritance.
Dont know how much or if he got any. I also have a letter from England to
Joseph Townsend dated 27 August 1889 regarding this matter and along with
those I have a copy of a Reward Poster from England for the certificate of
Baptism of Joseph Townsend son of Nathaniel Townsend. These items came from
Jeremiah Garrett. I would be happy to share with anyone interested. Sorry
if this gets sent twice. Having minor problems. Must be Christmas Cheer.
