Just a quick note to all List members, wishing you all the very best for
the season, however you may celebrate it.

This list is very new and as such has but a few members - at present.
Because of this, activity is rather minimal it will change in due course.

The purpose is to create a forum where anyone and everyone can share,
exchange, acquire or request genealogical data relevant to Eire.

"Genealogical data" can be in any form, and the messages will no doubt vary
accordingly. It is anticipated that they might be;

- messages to the List containing a straight forward text transcription
- offers to supply transcriptions on CD or other format
- requests to acquire a specific transcription
- descriptions of facsimile books, directories, maps, wills, parish &
cemetery records etc. on CD

By placing any messages on the list, they will be archived and searchable by
any member subsequently.

There are a few rules associated with most lists - and there is only one
here which is very important. Members are asked to please always consider
their position with regard to copyright, and respect others' copyright
accordingly

Best wishes to you and yours, and let's hope for some exciting genealogical
discoveries in 2001.

Nigel - in Fenstanton, Cambridgeshire
