Mary, thanks for pointing that out. We naturally think of this list as a
special little place for a limited few whose interests are the same as ours.
That makes it easy to forget that any present client, potential client,
opposing genealogist/attorney in a court case, etc., can Google our name and
find the questions and comments we've made here. There have definitely been
cases in which postings on RootsWeb lists have come back to badly bite the
professionals who posted them--even if they weren't professionals at the
time.
This is one of the reasons why APG launched a members-only forum: So that
potentially problematic postings would not have to be publicly aired and
forever archived.
