Sue, Welcome to the list and thank you for sharing your experiences. I
think many of us are concerned about records preservation. If you were not
already aware there is a *Committee on Records Preservation and
Access*sponsored jointly by the National Genealogical Society and the
Federation of
Genealogical Societies. Their website is: http://www.fgs.org/rpac/index.php
Their Mission Statement:
To advise the genealogical community on ensuring proper access to
historical records of genealogical value in whatever media they are
recorded, on means to affect legislation, and on supporting strong records
preservation policies and practices.
The website has updates on proposals, guidelines, and laws. It may be a
great way for some of us to get involved.
