I bought a netbook for my daughter with the condition that I could use it
for research trips. She chose the Acer Aspire with an 11.6" screen which is
nice, and the keyboard is full size. The downside is that it has a 1.33 Ghz
processor, where some models have a 1.66 Ghz processor. If you are using it
to take research notes it works fine, but it is VERY slow if you are trying
to download digital images. I do a lot of research at the National Archives
and had hoped to download images from my memory card while I was onsite, but
I think it is too slow. I think this is something to consider when shopping
for a netbook.
