I use "The Master Genealogist" (TMG). I used PAF for years starting with version 1 and up to 5.0. I wanted something more flexible and what I really like about "TMG" is that it allows sourcing to be very specific and has amazing flexibility. It has a basic mode that anyone can use when they first turn it on and it has more advanced settings for those who want to learn how to do more advanced things.

In addition I use John Cardinal's Second Site to make web pages from my TMG files and I use GedStar Pro to convert my database to be with me always in my palm pilot. I like that program better than the one that went with PAF. I have also used GenSmarts.

I would recommend all these programs. I've used a wide variety of programs over the past 30 some years and I would certainly give TMG the highest marks.

I have old versions of Ultimate Family Tree, Family Tree Maker, PAF and I think Brother's Keeper. TMG is the most flexible program I've ever used.
