I saw a mention for PAF in this chain. It is true that they will not be
providing new updates to the program. However, the parent program,
AncestralQuest, is continuing to move forward. They offer a 60 day free
trial and the purchase is <$30. I transitioned to AQ due to the similarity
to PAF and its ability to search databases such as Ancestry.com and
newFamilySearch as well as any others that you may subscribe to. It is easy
to use and provides a variety of output types. I have tried all the others
that were mentioned earlier. I started with Brother's Keeper, used
Generations, moved to Family Tree Maker, adopted Legacy for a while, used
Roots Magic and then PAF. I have beta tested for some of the programmers so
I see their products before they come out. For now, I will stick with AQ.
