Only two other lists that I belong to use the Reply to Poster as the
default. It does not appear to affect anything to do with content, length,
changing subjects or trimming digests. It does cause me to occasionally
post incorrectly. One of the things I like about the rootsweb mailing lists
is that they are public.

I joined this list to learn. I agree with the other posters, you can't
learn when you don't see it. I wouldn't change anything. This list has been
very active, while I haven't been seeing much mail from some of my other
lists. I think activity is good. One can always skip what doesn't interest
them.
