If I do genealogy research for myself while on a trip to also do genealogy
research for my Clients what I will normally do is cut my travel expenses in
half. And, depending on how much I do for myself, I may not even bill
travel expenses on that certain trip.
Since I do most all of my research at the Tennessee State Library and
Archives I try very hard to get as much work done in a visit as possible.
So, that would mean working on more than one Client file in one trip. It
makes for a very long day but I find that I am able to get more accomplished
and also save travel expenses for my Clients by not making numerous trips.
These days I don't have to worry about that because I don't have any time to
do my own research. I know we have discussed on this list before about
setting aside time to do our own research and how important that was but
sometimes it just isn't possible :)
