Michael--

You echoed my same situation. I too have not read a single issue yet and
I used to read them cover to cover as well. I also read like you do and
like a paper copy so I can highlight and make notes. I also am not
interested in doing all my reading via electronic device. I spend enough
time on the computer!

About a year ago, the Maryland Historical Society went to an all-digital
journal to save money.

I have not read a single issue yet. I used to read the journal cover to
cover.

For me, who doesn't have (or plan to get anytime soon) an iPhone, an
iPad, a Kindle, or any other of these digital reading devices, I need
the paper journal. Most of my reading is done outside at a park, or
sitting on a train. I don't have (or want to spend) the money to
purchase an e-reader. And I don't want to spend an additional $30 per
year to get the print version of a journal that is supposed to be a
major benefit of my $50 annual dues.
