Yes, Rondina! For all the good things they have done with city
directories (having long runs of years, etc.) this is a real baddie --
most reprehensible when more than one directory appeared in the same
year, and they run together.
It *appears* to me that the new format has eased this problem a bit,
to the extent that it is sometimes easier to find the front matter
now.
